Okay, I know it's impossible to make Ramza a Dark Knight, but can he at least become a Holy Knight? Something other than a special Squire, 'cause that's starting to suck.

You'll need a gameshark. His squire class IS different than the others though.

His Squire Class is different. He's basically like all the other special Knights. Only reason he's still a Squire is because he was never formally promoted/Knighted/etc. Becoming a heretic kind of interfered with his ability to sit through a ceremony with church officials.

Rumors used to be rampant that you "ould give him the Heave*ly Knight class, like his father had. Those, sadly, are false.

Is it a problem with the abilities you get or the story Kilakandra_DiMenia? If its the latter, there is no way the nobles would train him or otherwise enable him to become stronger, sorry. But if it is the former, he gets better abilities every chapter. I find that due to the low to non-exsistant costs of the abilities, a Guts/Punch Art combo is most fruitful in chapters three and four.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Also, Ramza can learn Ultima if he gets hit by it as a Squire, kinda like a Blue Mage. In a Guts/Punch Art combo it is most fruitful as it is your only lock-on attack. However it still lags in comparison to some of the other spells you can learn in other classes. Still, Ultima is non-elemental and that's always a plus. This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 1st January 2005 20:37 -------------------- |

I'm not exactly bored with it, necessarily, I just figured it would be cool if I could change his bacic job class. Don't mind me; I'm simply frustrated that I can't learn Ultima yet because I can't get past Riovanes. But anyway, I figured having two Holy Knights in my party would rock!! -------------------- "No matter what happens, I will always be with you... forever." ---- Pocahontas, Pocahontas "Only those who are already at the top are rewarded without trying."----- Delita Hyral, Final Fantasy Tactics http://www.ffshrine.org/fft/fft-midi/1-42-back_fire01.mid ---- My favorite FFT battle song |

If you want two Holy Knights, just wait 'til Chapter 4.

Just a head's up: you only have a set number of times to learn Ultima, and after those are up, there is no place you can get it. Make sure to get it as early as possible; a lot of people get it at the Limberry Gates battle. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

To be honest, I'd rather have Ramza's super-squire than a Holy Knight, simple for Scream. Scream is all you need. Have Ramza going around, screaming his head off, he'll move faster than anything else can breath, and if he's got two swords, he will smash anything. He could level Riovanes castle if he's been screaming long enough.

Getting Ultima is only hard if you decide to freelance it; first you need to minimize your chances of getting hit by Shadow Stitch, Allure, Stop Bracelet, and Seal.
Almost everytime I play, I've gotten Ultima at the Limberry Castle Gates battle. The Apandas are kind of cumbersome, but once they're wiped out, you only need to find an assassin, make sure to position yourself outside of their move range, guard against the above skills to the highest extent, and force them to use Ultima on you. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Since the Glabados church was the organization that dealt out the titles of Holy Knight, Holy Swordsman, Dvine Knight, Temple Knight and Heavenly Knight, it would be quite impossible for Ramza as a heretic to get any sort of formal knighting ceremony. Or to even rise in rank within the church itself.
Square could have renamed Ramza's squire class to something such as Mercenary after the end of chapter 1, but I suppose they either didn't care enough or were just plain lazy. Either way, Ramza is not a standard squire and has quite a few abilities that set him quite far ahead of any other squire. -------------------- Now the story's played out like this. I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him as a squire as a sign of humility. Ramza is a very humble and vbery noble man, and, the fact of the matter is, he never becomes more than a squire (in terms of technical rankings and progression, not jobs, like the fact that Ramza's father was a Heavenly Knight, Agrias is a Holy Knight, so on and so forth.)
Ramza is a hero; it's that simple, but he's not a hero in the sense that he goes in and uses a wide range of super-human abilities to destroy everything. Ramza is all about progression; he starts as a lowly squire, becomes a mercenary, and becomes wiser and more knowledgable as the story progresses. His abilities represent this as well. -------------------- Fierce Legends Software Battle Designer Fierce Legends Software Website Fierce Legends Software Forums Please post in our forums; we are in need of help and input as we develop the Final Fantasy VI Prequel. |

Naw, Final Fantasy Tactics is all about beating the crap out of the opposition and saving the day.
And Ramza is also enough of a bad man that he does not need the abilities of a Holy Knight to get through life. This is also why there is no flee command in Final Fantasy Tactics. Ramza does not run from battles, it is simply not an option. If Ramza is going to show up to fight, Ramza is going to win. And at the end of the game he has to continuously seek out more powerful enemies. And that is why he goes after the Zodiac monsters, to prove that he is the biggest baddest mercenary to ever walk the lands. Note: Don't take my post seriously =P The only real reason he's a squire is because he's a heretic, and there was no place for him to move up in the hierarchy of the Glabados Church. -------------------- Now the story's played out like this. Just like a paperback novel. Let's rewrite an ending that fits. |

Okay,I know this is impossible, but,I don't get why you can't make ramza a white knight like wiegraf starting at chapter 2 and leave him in that class throughout the rest of the game. <_< I mean, after ramza fights wiegraf in chapter 1,he gets hit by a holy sword attack, and then survives it,he can learn it.That job would come in real handy in the rest of the game if you know what I mean. :D
Edit :D Okay,I have made ramza a dark knight before, but beleive me,it wasn't easy. -_- First of all,I stripped gaffy of all his equipment at zirekile falls, and made him a priest.after the battle,I did'nt equip ramza's new armor on him yet.I waited, and waited, and waited <_< until finally,I fought him at lionel castle, and I then beated his ass in two,and then I equipped his old armor on me,and my job then said dark knight :D and this can happen, but it will not be easy, trust me  Moderator Edit Well, before anyone else digs into you:
