Just wondering...what version of FF4 is this based on? It looks kind of like a blend between US & J, or is it PSX (never went near)? The naming of alot of items/spells/etc. uses both, though not entirely accurate (A couple of things seems to have been mixed up).

It's supposed to be based on the PlayStation FF Chronicles version, but a few spellings from other versions may have crept through.

But then, that version in itself is a strange mixture of "correct" (J2E) and "horribly wrong/truncated" (2US).  The J2E version is actually a much better translation as far as item, summon, magic etc. and character names go, and from a technical standpoint it's miles ahead of what Square managed to do with their PSX conversion.

All names were taken directly from the official strategy guide to FF4 PSX. We did so after a long and arduous debate because we decided that it would be the most likely version for a newbie to the game to pick up first.

Wherever possible, we edited the names to be in plainer text (wherever we could and keep the meaning the same, that is). Also wherever possible, we tried to put in names from other versions of the game to keep them all straight.

It was a very difficult problem to handle, and I'm not going to guarantee we got everything exactly right. We appreciate visitors' patience with the data, and if there's anything we screwed up badly, feel free to let us know in the troubleshooting forum.

Chronicles, huh. No wonder, because I own the original cartridge, play the translated ROM for the original/HT version, and completely try to stay away from PSX version when my brother got it. My original vocabulary is from the cart., but I mostly use the HT terms (hence my mostly saying Cain, Tella, Gilbert). Some on the site are from US, some are from J, but most seem completely screwed up. How else did they screw this wonderful game up? -_-
Anyways, the biggest ones are a few typos I will post there.
