I can't point you to any off the top of my head, but all the reviews I've read said it was EXCELLENT. The movie takes place sometime between episodes 21 and 22, so all the major characters (Jet, Spike, Faye, Ed, and Ein) are in it. Yoko Kanno composed the music. I own the movie soundtrack, which is absolutely worth every cent. Even if you don't enjoy the movie, see it for the music ;)

Cowboy Bebop is one of my all-time favorites. Who couldn't love a martial arts sci-fi spaghetti western vigilante extravaganza? Not to mention that Spike Spiegel is the man, period.
I must mention that "Cowboy Bebop" and "waste of money" do not go into the same sentence. If I had the cash, I'd buy every manga volume out there. (Being the fanatic that I am, I already have all 26 sessions on DVD.) I haven't yet gotten my hands on the movie yet, but I do know the entire plot. I've heard that the overall feel of the movie is absolutely fantastic, and the animation is even better than the superb stylings of the series, which is quite a feat considering how great the original really was. It features all of the lovable Bebop crew, and a great soundtrack by the indomitable Yoko Kanno. And of course, there's plenty of crazy action. I won't ruin the story for you, but suffice to say it's very interesting, and when you fit it into the timeline, it provides a whole lot of foreshadowing as to the spectacular ending of the series. In the end, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a great buy at any price. If you see it on store shelves at any time, don't hesitate to purchase it immediately - these things are in short supply, bootlegged or not. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. Sayers "The truly remarkable thing about television is that it allows several million people to laugh at the same joke and still feel lonely." ~T.S. BLARRG!! How dare you even think...THINK...of not buying Knockin' on Heaven's Door if you have the chance. YOU MUST PURCHASE ALL COWBOY BEBOP MERCHANDISE AVAILABLE!!! THEN SEND IT TO KAPPA FOR FREE!!!
But anywho, it's great. Don't miss out, it's well worth the buy. How much could it be anyway? I got all the episodes on DVD for $20-$30 each. Not a bad deal considering I got around 4-5 episodes per. Unlike some series where you get 3 episodes for $30!! *cough*TRIGUN*cough* Uhhhm...yes...go buy the movie now. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

He, he, he. Sorry if I offended anyone but I tend to be pessimistic most of the time. I have little money. (Stupid local places won't hire you 'till you're 16 grumble grumble grumble.......)
also, I found out today that the only ways for me to get the DVD (is it out on video? if so all the better. Â Me = no DVD player) would be internet or wait for store. Either option would run me $100+ so it's gonna be awhile. If anyone knows a place where I could download any of it it would be nice. Â Thanx for all contributions. WHEE!!!!! an EDIT! anyways, I found a friend who can make tapes of DVD's so he'll make it into a tape for me. Also, even though it isn't from the movie probably, what was the name of the crime Syndicate Spike was in? I can't remember and I need the name for a fic that I'm writing. |

Damn, Cowboy Bebop is so awesome. It is ridiculous how cool spike is. Anyways, you've probably gotten the movie by now, but if you haven't, I strongly suggest that you leave your house right now and track a copy down. If it's possible, the movie has better animation than the series. Plus, the intro. alone is beautiful. WOW! so good.

The movie kicks ass Spoony. I saw it in theaters and picked up the DVD the day it came out. Definitly a must own movie. You like the series, you won't be disappointed.

I saw the movie on Starz. >_>
Pretty good. I liked it a lot, and Cowboy Bebop tends to bore me after a bit, but the movie I could watch over and over, the beginning is especially amusing. -------------------- This one time I punched a bear in the forehead TO DEATH! That would be AWESOME...if Vicious were in this movie, but he's not. However that is a cool scene.

No, Vicious isn't in the movie, but the villain is still a badass none the less. Pick up the movie if you get a chance. You won't regret it.
By the way... does anyone know where the movie fits in with the series. It couldn't be after the series, Possible spoilers: highlight to view considering Spike dies at the end. I loved the Bebop movie. For me it was more like a really long and bigtime "episodic" kind of episode that didn't deal directly with the impending issues of Spike's life.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view It was the last fully united fun (though dangerous) hurrah of the whole group. Overall, what I'm saying is that the movie is a very pleasant diversion that we Space Cowboys and Samurais got rewarded with. ... and the fight-scenes were pure ecstasy. ![]() This post has been edited by Ejoty on 7th September 2004 19:22 -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

Sephiroth, I believe the movie takes place in between episodes 22 and 23. Anyways, once again, Bebop is just so damn good. It's hard to believe how good it is. Ah, little Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV.

"Knocking on Heaven's Door" was my only time seeing anything to do with Cowboy Bebop, but it made me into an instant fan. The charecters were so diverese and entertaining. Ed was my favorate, so quirky! The fighting was nothing short of gorgeous, and the plot was thrilling. It was a treat to watch, and wish with every fiber in my heart that I could see the rest of the series.
Oh, bye the way, does anyone know what Ed sings while she's hacking in that movie? It's been a long running debate, between me and my friends what the last line in the song is. -------------------- TURKEY! - (The only way not to get blocked for using Fowl Language) |

I could watch the series if I lived in America and had Satilite. As it is however, I live in Canada, and my dad canceled our satilite about a year ago.
