Reflect doesn't work at all. Why?

I'm trying to beat Weapon using a Gravity trick. Apparently doing Gravity+Quadra Magic will eventually kill it, but I'm not sure. However, I'd rather do reflect on all party members, but for some reason, it doesn't work at all. Using reflect rings AND barrier reflect, when I try magic on my party, all three members still get hit. Why?
(And PS. is there another way to kill Emerald? I have KotR level 2, and 3 mimes. But it's so long.) Thanks. |

I don't think Reflect works on Gravity.

I never was much of a Reflect user although I'm aware of it's benefits when it counters magic, but I think that the only "Reflect-able" magic is Elemental Attack magic types. Gravity falls on what you might call "Arcane Magic", the same as Berserk I believe. Try using Reflect on an enemy and then fire Gravity on it, the Demi attack will ignore the Reflect Effect.

Obviously you'd need the Conformer though, and 8 Elixirs/X-Potions. See what'll happen is Yuffie will cover for everyone, then Counterattack 13 times, knocking 130k off of Emerald (the same as KotR), as Conformer will deal 9999 damage to Emerald. This'll kill him in 8 shots, so all you have to do is have Life2/ Phoenix on a different party member (aire tam storm), an few hero drinks (optional), and 8 X-Potions/ Elixirs. not all magics work with reflect but many of the useful ones do you better just try a different strategy
