What is your favorite limit break and why? I'm not asking what you think is the best limit break damage-wise, just which one do you like the most. Of course, if you like it because it's powerful that's cool too.
I personally like Barret's Ungarmax (which according to CoN is Angermax? I guess it was a poor translation. . .). I just think it's incredibly B.A. and yet simple at the same time. I think it's what his regular attack would be like if FF7 was more realistic. Possible spoilers: highlight to view It's incredibly satisfying. My favorite place to use Ungarmax is in the Correl Prison fighting Dyne. He opens up the round by shooting me in the chest with his shotgun arm. I respond by unloading an entire clip on his face. -------------------- Wha? Thanks to me? |

Vinnie's Chaos.
Why? Come on, people, it's Chaos! Fighting for you! It's a whole new level of awesome. -------------------- Snooping as usual, I see? |

Omnislash. It's just cool. That's it.
Honorable mentions: Aeris' Fury Brand and Cid's Dragon Dive. |

Aesthetically, Cosmo Memory. Big ol' meteor ride is fun to watch.
In gameplay, nothing is more fun than pulling off a complete 7-hit combo with Tifa's limits. Tifa isn't my favorite character to use, but when I do use her I give her Fury and use the meter as much as possible. -------------------- |

I like to put Vincent in the battle arena and have him transform in the first round just to see how far he gets on his own. Only problem is if he fights something that's undead and uses his auto-kill attack. -------------------- Wha? Thanks to me? |

Sephiroth's Super Nova, it looks fantastic shame it only does 4000 damage, it should do 9998 damage just to make the game more challenging.

That's a different game and FFVI does not have limit breaks does it? But yeah that is a neat attack and I do enjoy playing as Kefka on Dissidia he owns. Infact I use Kefka more than Sephiroth but I do like them both.

FF6 had a lesser version of Limit Breaks, the Desperation Attacks. I remember being quite impressed when my near-dead Setzer hit Girl for 9999. I died anyway, but it was interesting.
And come on, Supernova isn't even a Limit Break. It's a regular attack Sephiroth uses. Sure, it's kinda stong (gravija+bad breath=win) but just having a good (and long, and boring) animation doesn't make it a Limit Break at all. Oh yeah, Catastrophe is fun. Barret jumping around like crazy. -------------------- Snooping as usual, I see? |

I'm with the OP, Barret's Angermax is awesome and looks wicked. Without a doubt it's my favourite.
I also dig Cid's Dynamite limit, it's wild that the guy carries around sticks of dynamite to light with his smoke and toss at enemies, great low level attack and hilariously cool. |

Always been partial to Earth Rave, just to see Nanaki bring it Cosmo style. Second place...probably Landscaper. If Yuffie can't make it as a thief, at least she'll have that talent to fall back on, heh.

Red XIII's Stardust Ray is my favourite looking.
Cait Sith's slots are fun to use, especially if you are good at manipulating the outcome (yes, I am one of the 5 people in the world who likes Cait Sith -------------------- FF games completed: I (psp), II (psp), III (DS), IV (psp), V (GBA), VI (GBA), VII, VIII, IX, X, XI: Nations-Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, XII, XIII, XIV, XV. Spin-offs: FFIV: Interlude & The After Years, Crisis Core: FFVII, X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, Type-0 HD, Dissidia, Dissidia 012, and Tactics (original & WotL). Enjoyed them all. |

I think....
Cloud's Omnislash for looks. Barret's Ungarmax for Lucky 7s exploit. Tifa's Final Heaven for slotted stuffs. Aeris' Fury Brand for plain usefulness. Red XIII's Earth Rave for the awesome name. Cait Sith's Slots for manipulation of. Cid's Dragon Dive for... well. That's for me to know and for you to find out Yuffie's Doom of the Living for the colour scheme. And of course, Vincent's Chaos for jaw-dropping badassness. But, all in all, Aeris' Fury Brand triumphs over all other limit breaks as they can be accessed through it. Wow, first post here =]...I think.
Yeah, my fav limit has to be Mindblow, because it lets you beat Midgar Zolom at <15...which is pretty freakin' cept the fact it gives you crappy EXP and AP. |

I don't think I ever bothered to try using that against him. I think my strategy was to get lots of higher end limits early on since you didn't need to be really high level, just use them a lot. I think I used to go into the battle with all my limits full and unleash them all at once when he got to half health before he had a chance to kill me. It really was a poor move to put all the most interesting limits with Aeris.
I'm a fan of Cross-Slash. I enjoyed using it on Rufus and that fight is one of the best in the game. It would only be because of that fight, no other reason. Probably not enough to carry it. Howling Moon is a good one too. I like its status effects and the way the camera moves to Red XIII during battle makes him look really dangerous. I like Ungarmax's no-nonsense approach. It's so rare these days to see a powerful attack that doesn't need special effects or anything. My favourite must be Cait Sith's Slots. There's no telling what's going to come out and even after all this time it's still great fun. I like his transformation. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |
