Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger Released for Steam
It's based on the iOS/Android versions of the Nintendo DS release, following suit from other SNES-era Square games that have made it to Steam. This means that it has the additional dungeon content and ending from that NDS version, so it's another opportunity to try that out and use the CoN walkthrough if you never have. Based on the screenshots, it looks like the art has been softened a little bit in this release, with the sprites not quite as sharp as one would remember from the older versions, but fairly similar to the mobile versions.
The system specs here are predictably low, and the price isn't bad for folks who haven't played CT before or have never had a chance to do the later-added content. Of course, it will likely show up in a nice big Steam sale pretty soon, too, so enjoy!

Chrono Trigger Coming Again, Now to Mobile
The game's going to be released worldwide, and will be available in seven different languages. It is not yet clear from which version this port will be derived, so the presence of the Toriyama animated cutscenes or Nintendo DS bonus content is, as yet, unconfirmed.

Chrono Trigger to Playstation Network
Of course, since this is a PSN release, you are in fact getting the Playstation version of the game - while this adds the quality animated cutscenes from that version, there's also a chance that it will come with the gameplay lag common to Square's PSX port from the original SNES version. It also will lack any of the bonus content added to the Nintendo DS version.
In related news, the author of the Playstation blog post also hints very heavily down in the comments at Chrono Cross joining Trigger on the PSN in the very near future.

Square-Enix Tidbits - Chrono Zero
In Final Fantasy news, there's some interesting stuff on the Type-0 front. You know how we've had moogles since Final Fantasy V, and that's their name? Well, in Type 0, it would seem that "Moogle" is actually an acronym for a miltary position. Oh, and they're part of a group called "Cranberry Knights", too. For more details on the upcoming PSP game, check here for a summary of the story, batlle system and characters, and here for details on the missions and summons. Also more character details. Gotta love Famitsu.
And what else have Square-Enix been up to recently? Well, they've just released an app for the iPhone that teahces the English language to the user. Useful!
That's all for now, folks. You can return to playing Final Fantasy IV Complete.

Final Fantasy VI & Chrono Trigger as American DLC
FFVI and CT? Two of the board at large's favorite games. Squenix knows what they're doing here, and all you old fogeys who remember when these games came out first are gonna get the chance to relive all that without resorting to emulation (or handhelds). I can't wait either!

Square Enix News Tidbits: Consumables
My call, though, is that if you really wanted the game that badly you probably preordered it anyway.
In other game news, developer Obsidian says they want a crack at the Chrono Trigger franchise. Obsidian are best known for sequels to original games, one of which they're working on for Squenix already (Dungeon Siege 3). Would they ever get the keys to the castle that is Chrono Trigger? Yeah, pretty much no chance if you ask me. Perhaps they should just start on a sequel and see how far they get.
Finally, here's one that snuck in under my radar: Square Enix and GamePot are bringing a new action MMO to the States. The game, Fantasy Earth Zero, is a free-to-play MMO with a primary focus on large PvP battles. It's been out in Japan for over three years but launched in the US in May.
