What we Know About Final Fantasy VI Advance
New confirmed espers: Gilgamesh and Leviathan.
Extra dungeon: Supposedly you'll navigate it with a three party setup similar to Kefka's tower.
Bestiary and Music player: Confirmed, but who didn't see that coming?
Enchanced Graphics: Confirmed, but again, who didn't see that coming.
Now this is just speculation, but, we think they've also indicated there will be a new element, but there's no actual statement of what it is. It's probable that the element is Water, to go with Leviathan, and it seems likely to me that Bismark will gain Water, Maduin will gain Water 2 or Watera, and Leviathan with teach Water, Water 2, and Water 3. As for Gilgamesh, I really can't even guess. There also seem to be indications of a Monster or Boss Rush mode.
So let's make like schoolgirls and gush and gush and gush about our favorite game.

Ahh, to hack once again... Now that everything has been found out about FF6, having a GBA version to hack will be fun. I'm willing to bet the extra dungeon will contain one or more of the new espers. It'd be great if Square bumped up its HP slot to 32 bits, so that beating stuff in a single round with the Atma Weapon, Genji Glove, and Offering wouldn't be possible anymore. Having an actual challenge and all would be welcomed. I wonder which bugs will be fixed, out of the dizzyingly huge list found in 6. Last I checked, it was nearing a few hundred quite easily.

It's so good to finally reveal the new features for FF6a. But I'm much more interested in FF5a (new jobs FTW). Though about the new espers it's great to see peoples' favorite subvillian in FF actually becoming an esper just like in FF8. I'm not too sure why there would be another water based esper like Bismark in FF6a, but most other espers had that same issue. I wonder how sexily done the dungeon would turn out ![]()

A few screenshots of FFVI. They look the same as the regular, except their pic is next to the text they say. I am almost for sure that FFVI will be awesome, but at the same time i'm worried. If they do something stupid in this FF6a, it could mean a bad rep for FFVIa. Don't mess up Square! ![]() ![]()

Water is already an element in FF6. Granted, it's not used much, but Aqua Rake and Clean Sweep come to mind as being water-elemental, as well as the Flame Shield being weak to water (as well as absorbing fire and negating ice).

I see they decided against updating the portrait sprites, though seeing FFVgba's makes me think that it's just as well.

Oh, good. I was worried about how they'd pull off the graphics of it for the GBA. Good. And they'd better make some multi-million HP superboss for me to face, it just wouldn't do it justice given the opportunities of a 32-bit system.

Quote (FF Master @ 25th September 2006 16:53) The reason why I don't own FFIV Advance yet is that they screwed with the graphics and made them both unfamiliar and ugly. If they can somehow avoid doing that to FFVI, I'll be happy.

Sounds like fun if they made it more of challange this time, and if the new players are cool. Hopefully they fixed all the bugs and have better sound quality than the ps version. It was always my favorite so i'll be buying it when it comes to the US no matter what the case.

If they made new portraits and they looked good, then I'd be fine. To me, FFIV's portraits was pretty good for the most part (except for Rosa).

Some more tidbits from the provided link: Quote System optimization, graphics update, new job availability, extra dungeon, etc., 120% port of Final Fantasy VI! 12 Years Since the Original In 1994, Final Fantasy VI was released on the Super Famicon. A dramatic story was developed with a sculpted group of characters who were all tied firmly into the plot. Featuring "crystals," which have always been a series motif to this point, this is an ambitious work with a wonderfully presented appearance of a highly technical civilization. It's profound gameplay and dramatic scenarios are invaluable, and this Super Famicom release set a record when over 2,500,000 copies were sold. Presentation In the original work, characters learned spells by equipping magicite (lit: magic stones), and were able to summon through the "Magicite System." Each character was able to use a job, and players were able to freely switch characters in and out of their parties for battles. Also, the game featured "Side Attack" and "Pincer" battles with characters or enemies along both sides of the screen. Furthermore, FF6 offered graphics surpassing anything else seen on the Super Famicom at the time, inlaid minigames to be found everywhere, progressively achieved and displayed events, and a battle system which brought forth various capture techniques by combining characters. Presenting the whole new face of the most popular game of its series, "Final Fantasy VI!" GBA Additions New Magicite: Popular Final Fantasy series characters Gilgamesh and Leviathan can be summoned into battle Extra Dungeon Search underneath the earth with thee parties! But a formidable enemy awaits you there... Monster Gauntlet Floor Series of battles involving all monsters and bosses fought to this point. Set a new record for the party you've raised! Reconstruction of Interface for the GBA Redesigned windows, menus, etc. based on FF4A's construction Rearranged, 8 Channel Background Music New character portrait graphics, improved battle music Newly added Monster compendium, Music Player Yes, I know "various capture techniques by combining characters" sounds utterly ridiculous in English. (Half of you already complain when Ted Woolsey's is too "liberal" anyway. ![]() And with that, I'll let you guys have at the speculation. I have to get back to class. ![]()

Well, that's a little bit of a too-literal read on it. If the sentence were re-worded to say "A new element will be added to black magic," it would be fine, no? ![]() Quote (Phoenix by way of Jappoland) Monster Gauntlet Floor Series of battles involving all monsters and bosses fought to this point.
