Square-Enix Opens "Promotion Video" Podcast Site
The fact that the website is mostly in Japanese should prove not to be an impediment, but it is unknown at this time if an English version or a multiple language option will eventually be introduced.

Hmm, so, their supporting Apple here rather than Sony's PSP? Strange.

Quote (BASSsic @ 2nd February 2006 14:50) Hmm, so, their supporting Apple here rather than Sony's PSP? Strange. You misunderstand, BASSsic. A podcast doesn't necessarily have anything to do with an iPod. Podcasts are essentially internet-broadcasted audio that can be individually downloaded or streamed on to a personal computer or a mobile device (like an iPod). They're basically internet-based radio shows that have become really popular over the past year or so - you can even download streaming software like FeedBurner that automatically downloads new episodes of your favorite podcasts to specific directories. The Gamers Club at my university regularly puts out a video game-related podcast that I contribute to on occasion - it's linked on my sig (/shameless_plug). Oh, and if that comment was sarcasm and not an honest question, I'm sorry for sounding so pedantic.

I understand that the format is not iPod specific but I just find it weird the term has come about, maybe not as a slang term but as a term being used commercialy, I'm suprised! It's just digital content/media set-up to be downloaded and synced automaticly to devices. I thought big companies would just give it a more generic term. But since their videos right, and not audio, what format is it? Formatted to go straight on an iPod Video or a PSP? Not PSP I guess.
