Square Enix Hold Auditions for FFIV DS Vocalist
Auditions are open to anyone 18 and older, regardless of gender and experience. Applicants are required to send in a basic profile, self introduction, photo, and demo tape. And, in the spirit of the auditions, Theme of Love composer Nobuo Uematsu as well as Final Fantasy IV Director Takashi Tokita have recorded their thoughts and discussions regarding the topic of love. Radio streams of this discussion are available on Square Enix's website.

I'm tempted to record a demo tape and send it in. Too bad (or, good thing) I'm very aware of how awful my singing voice is. :P
Nonetheless, this seems a magnanimous choice for Square Enix to make. I'd imagine any FFIV fan, diehard or not, would be thrilled to have their own voice gracing the title sequence of the game. And therefore Square is sure to amass quite a few entires to work through after their July 31 deadline.
On another note, and as a followup to one of our previous FFIV DS newsposts, a few more Shonen Jump scans of the FFIV DS teaser pages are available at French gaming site JeuxFrance.

i think that is awesome that they are auditioning for a voice. i wouldn't send in a recording myself, to the happiness of those who know me, i will just have to be excited with the new scans.

I can't read Japanese, so I've no clue where to send things or what they'd want me to send... Any help in that regard? Also, what's the due date?

Last time I heard of this, the auditions were restricted to citizens of Japan who are at least 18 years of age. It's still pretty cool, since it allows a new talent to rise up as opposed to picking a current celebrity. I would hope they pick a new singer for the English version though, unless they leave the song in Japanese like with FFX (I'd hope against that...).

As I said in chat when we first looked at these sites yesterday, seeing that grin on Octomammoth's face makes everything else worth it. Even if the game itself is horribly butchered.

While I find the auditions interesting and did give some perhaps tantalizing information about them in the article, I could not recommend anyone seriously audition without either personal fluency in the Japanese language or a professional, dedicated translator to communicate with Square Enix in your stead. After all, auditioning in this sense is for all intents and purposes a job interview. If these necessities are already taken care of, however, the deadline is on the 31st of July.
