Square Enix 2006 Release Dates

Square Enix
According to this nifty RPGFan article, Square-Enix has released a new statement on the rest of their 2006 releases, including specific American release dates for three games.

Dirge of Cerberus ~Final Fantasy VII~ will be released on the Playstation 2 on August 15th, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime will be released on the Nintendo DS on September 19th, and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria will be released on the Playstation 2 on September 26th.

Also confirmed to be released later this year but after September ends are Final Fantasy XII for the PS2, Final Fantasy III and Children of Mana for the DS, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors for the Wii, and Final Fantasy V Advance and Final Fantasy VI Advance for the Game Boy Advance. We have no official release dates for any of those six games, but many publications and retailers have already posted release dates for several of them, including an October 31st release date for Final Fantasy XII and an October 30th release date for Children of Mana.

NeoEx-Death Ah sweet! It's been a while for FF5a and FF6a's release data pending. Now what we need is screenshots.

You Spoony Bard! Any game that has a job system is a game for me, and it seems I'll be happy for quite some time now.

FFIII looks great. I saw some screens for the cinematics, and at first I thought they were fir gamecube or ps2. Amazing!

Dark Paladin Wasn't Dirge of Cerebus the one that was supposed to be on the cell phone?

No, that's Before Crisis, which stars several of the Turks. There was also an FF VII snowboarding minigame released for cell phones. Dirge of Cerberus, starring Vincent, is for the PS2, and Crisis Core, starring Zack, is for the PSP.

Zalen I keep wishing they'd re-release the original PS Valkryie Profile as a 'Greatest Hit' (they did for Tactics), but GBA seems to have a handle on the re-release type games >.>

Zeromus_X VP was rereleased on the PSP as Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, with all new hot CG sequences that tie in to Silmeria.

Of course they aren't going to rerelease a PS1 Game, not outside of Japan anyway, they did rerelease the original there...

From what I understand, the special edition just has an extra DVD with lots of art on it. From what I heard of it, it didn't affect the main game at all, and I wasn't interested.

And I posted the Halloween release date in the newspost - retailers have the date already, but there has been no official announcement yet, because it's still a few months away.

Shotgunnova I plan on buying FFXII so I can hurry up and write an walkthrough for it before all the importers beat me to it. I'm not preordering it, so I'm glad that there aren't "extra sidequests" that I'd be missing out on. Not really interested in anything else except FFVI Advance, although I'm sure I'll blind-buy Dirge of Cerberus because I have to keep up on FF series information for messageboarders. =/
