More Information on Final Fantasy IV GBA Port
Nintendo and Square Enix reportedly display interest in porting more Final Fantasy titles to the Game Boy Advance in the near future as part of their "Final Fantasy Series Port Project", although no official announcements have been made.
Final Fantasy IV for the GBA will be in North American stores on December 12th, 2005. Japan has yet to receive a specific release date, but sources confirm it will be available sometime in Winter 2005.

Quote (RPGGamer) Final Fantasy IV will mostly remain true to the SNES original, but it will feature some exclusive changes for the GBA. Specifically, a graphical upgrade is mentioned, and is apparent in the first images of the game. Well, that sounds awesome, and worries me as well...I hope they don't botch it... ![]()

Quote As indicated by early images of the game, graphical improvements have been made... I want to see the new graphics beause i wouldn't want to blow my money on something i've already got, just on a new system. Quote ...as well as the addition of character portraits inside dialogue boxes. Final Fantasy II had these, they better be good. *Begins to search for screenshots*

As much as a graphical upgrade would be cool, I'm not sure I'd buy it because I already have the game for SNES and PSX. I've only played it once and that was on SNES so I almost think it would be a waste of money to get it on GBA. I just wish instead of re-releasing they'd release the one that hasn't come out yet here.

I think I'm going to get this. I miss my SNES version of the game. I guess we'll see what kinds of "improvements" have been made.

Well It looks cool to me. Definately a reason to get a GBA if I ever saw one. http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff4/propaganda/ff4001.jpg If you look there, the graphics are more or less comprable to the WonderSwan version of the game. Regardless, this is going to be in english, so I'm sure we'll all enjoy it, eh?

Lookit! This article from IGN contains some more juicy info, as well as talk of the port's brand new teaser site! And check out the new Game Boy Micro faceplate - Final Fantasy IV art by Yoshitaka Amano on your handheld! What could be better? As a sidenote, Square's still planning to release Final Fantasy IIIj on the DS. So rest assured they haven't forgotten.

For one, I seem to remember the items in the FFChronicles release getting unnecessary name changes. The loading times are enough to make buy the GBA release, even if it's that close to Christmas time.
