Free Games to North American PS3 and PSP Users

Playstation 3
As an apology for the recent hacking and outage of the PlayStation Network, Sony is offering free games to PS3 and PSP owners who lost service during the outage. In addition, users will receive 30 days of free PlayStation Plus service and free rentals from their online video rental service.

To claim your free games, just log onto the PSN Store anytime the first 30 days after it's restored (which it should be soon) and download the games. Two game downloads from the list of available games are allowed for each system - 2 for PS3 and 2 for PSP. Five games are available for each platform, including the critically acclaimed inFamous on PS3 and LittleBigPlanet on both the PSP and PS3. Check the listed source for the full menu of free games and other stipulations of the deal.

This is for the North American PSN Store only; other regions will likely have their own "customer appreciation packages" announced later on. I dunno about you guys, but I'll be getting my Wipeout on at the first opportunity.

Neal Heh, just came here to post this. It almost makes me regret not being on PSN, except for the whole identity theft part. If anyone's going to take advantage of this and doesn't have inFAMOUS, I would HIGHLY recommend it. I imagine it will be the most-grabbed of those choices.

Rangers51 I have a PSN account but only have a PSP. I might be tempted to get games just for the sake of getting them, though. What's the harm?

Chewbekah I have a question that's kind of related to this PSN outage but apparently there was an email sent out of what to do when the network is back up and you log in and the info that got changed. I usually delete PSN emails because I never buy anything but if someone could copy and paste that to this forum or even email it to me at my email address.

Nevermind. I actually went to the Playsation website after posting this.

tesco Yari Yari. It seems like the PSN made the list quite quickly. I do wish it would have been a bigger list. None of the games really tickles my fancy, but then again thats my opinion.

I mean hey all else why not add a few Ps1 games in there. I wouldn't mind a few of those in place

Yeah I wasn't too thrilled with the lineup myself. I'm still trying to decide which two for each system. It seems like most of them are shooters and I don't like shooters.
