Forums reach 20,000 posts

CoN forums have reached 20,000 posts, an excellent landmark. The way the posts are stacking up, it's anyone's guess as to when we reach 30,000. If I were to make a guess, I'd say around April or May of 2004, unless the number of posts continues to increase. The 20,000th post was made by the site webmaster, Rangers51, in the Dragon Quest 5 Remake thread.

For those of you that aren't reading this through the forums and aren't members yet, consider joining up.

	Well, this really is a nice achievement. Congratulations to our webmaster, and of course the staff and members of CoN. I care to place a bet, and that bet would be that the 30,000th post will occur on April 9th (I think it's worth a shot...)

	way to go on having such a successful forum, josh. i wanted to be online when the 20000th was made, but im close enough, 20019 aint bad i guess. im gonna say 30000 is gonna be around march 12. id'a picked the 19th, cuz thats the day randy rhoads died, but DP took it.

It took what, 3 years to reach 10,000 posts, then another six months to reach 20,000? Major spike in the growth there. This is the kind of forum that will continue to grow rapidly.

This is the kind of forum that will continue to grow rapidly. If I remember correctly, the forums were reset as far as post numbers when we moved from the UBB5 software to ikonBoard 3. If that was the case, and Tiddles would probably remember better than I, then that means it took us eight months to hit 10,000 on the current numbering scale, and it took us 220 days to go from 10k to 20k. That's just about eight months too. And if you like geeky stats like that, I might have some more good ones later.

	The current forum total posts count from 28th July 2002. You can do your own maths based on that. That's also why member post counts added up tally to considerably more than you can see on the forums - member posts counts DO date back a good deal further, to 1 January 2001.

	my (jokey) predictions. spoliered as they may be a tad off-topic. Possible spoilers: highlight to view I predict post 25,000 to occur spookily upon the exact release date of FF x-2 in the United Kingdom, and be... by an american member who wants to reflect upon the superbowl. then 25,001 will be by me saying that ive got x-2... heres to the future! post 30,000 will occur on August the 4th 2004, and be made by ... someone who psoted mere nanosecodns before a staffer. There will eb twenty posts at that oen second, menaing that anyone watching a post-count ometer, will panic, and post a thread about the posts going nuts,leading to aknock on effect, and making the post counts shoot up faster than a Harrier jump-jet with faulty altitude controls. By January 23rd, 2005, post 40,000 will have been made. and in an effort to for me, a warhamemr 40k fan, to get post 40k, on my brithday, after 2 years on the site, i will be scuppered by someone else talking this time about the NHL. ...i can see that happening now... anyway, serious guess now(so i stand a chance of actually being here in 2005) is that it will be on [b]May the 5th, 2004[b], by a completley random persons who wasnt looking at post counts, oh no, no conspiracy theories on this site at all, ahem... (psst! The SAS shot JFK! wink wink)

	What is impresive is not the fact that the CoN forums have reached 20,000. It's the fact that about 20,000 of those posts are good posts free of spam and all the other stuff that make most forums a headache. That's what we're thanking you for.

	and we are near the 40,000 post mark, I just checked that we have 39,059 posts (wait this is now 39,060).
