Final Fantasy X HD Plus X-2 HD Both Coming
When released for PS3, both games will be on the same Blu-ray disc; for Vita, they'll be separate purchases on separate game cards. There's no pricing and no lockdown release date, though next week's Jump magazine confirms that a 2013 release in Japan is the target.
Both games will be based on the International Edition releases, which is extra grand for X-2 as that version was never released in the West before.

As excited as I am that X is being released in a format my PS3 can play, allowing me to satisfy my newfound love for it; I really hope the inclusion of X-2 doesn't increase the price point they would charge for the standalone. If it does, they might as well charge me an extra fiver to spit in my face at the till...

My theory is that it's going to be handled the same was as the ICO / Shadow of the Colossus HD collection. If that's true, then you can expect the blu-ray package to cost $40 in the United States, but have it feature numerous extras like wallpapers (...hooray?). If you don't want both games, you can download them individually for $20 each. That's how I think it'll probably end up. Hopefully before 2014, right?

Nice nice, maybe now I'll finally be motivated to play through (all of) FFX!

Double post because this time I actually have information. A German version of the first official trailer for FFX / FFX-2 Remastered has surfaced a bit earlier than intended. It's hard to tell exactly how much has changed, particularly given that a chunk of this already-short trailer is cutscene footage, but just from first glance character bodies certainly look smoother.

I've been on the fence about getting FFX HD for a while. I love FFX and always wanted a chance to fight the Dark Aeons and Penance but I wasn't sure if that was enough extra content to justify buying the game again. The inclusion of FFX-2 International is pushing me towards "yes".

They had this running in their loop of promo videos at PAX. I didn't get any photos from it, but I will say that it definitely looked good, certainly close to if not at the same level as Final Fantasy XIII from what I could tell. I never played the original FFX on an HD TV, but I see no way that what I saw wasn't a big improvement.
