Bravely Default: Flying Westward Fairies

Square Enix
For all you out there who don't feel like Square Enix ever listen to the demands of the fans, you are getting a win today. Siliconera reports that based on some off-the-record conversations from last week's Game Developers Conference, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be coming to the West in English. This has been the subject of much speculation for a while, as covered back in March, and while today's news is the result of some conversations on background, Siliconera is obviously a quality source of information and combined with the aforementioned tweet from the official Twitter feed, it seems like this long-lived rumor is fast approaching being a lock.

There's not much more to it than that right now. There's no release date, no screenshots in English and no further plans because as yet the news hasn't been officially confirmed. Expect all that to be coming soon!

Chewbekah Yay! This excites me!!! I saw picture of this game earlier this year or last year and was hoping so much that it would find its way stateside.

Perigryn This sounds pretty awesome, and totally a valid reason for me to hurry up and get myself a 3DS! I was psyched about it way back when RPGFan first announced its existence. It was, of course, only a matter of time until they brought it overseas, personally.

Death Penalty Very glad to hear this news. The game got some pretty glowing reviews, and it looks very pretty. Especially since it's a release without "Final Fantasy" in the title, which I think is healthy for the company. Even if I won't play it due to my dearth of handheld devices wink.gif

Yep, same here...yet another reason to continue considering a 3DS purchase. Sigh.

Chewbekah Fire Emblem Awakening should be reason alone for anyone to get a 3DS. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about the game. I know that's a little off topic but I felt it needed to be said.

Spooniest I'm still not playing a game called "Flying Fairy."

I suppose I can buy it and give it to someone who will.

Why not? Sometimes games have stupid names. Plus, there's a good chance it will have a different name over here unless Squenix think that there's enough name recognition for the Japanese name to keep it.

As for your other part about buying it anyway, I guess that makes me think that you're trying to make a joke? Not sure what you're getting at, because from everything I've heard it seems like a great little handheld RPG.

Glenn Magus Harvey Wait, I thought this was the game that was really silly touchscreen nonsense?

Or is that a separate game called All The Bravest? I'm having trouble sorting through all the odd names.

Chewbekah You're thinking of All the Bravest. This is a completely new IP separate from Final Fantasy.
