New Information on Crisis Core

Final Fantasy VII
Square-Enix's official website for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII recently updated, giving us a great deal of new information. The game takes places seven years before Final Fantasy VII, when Shinra is gaining influence in the world by controlling the planet's supply of Mako energy. Sephiroth, Zack, and a third SOLDIER named Angeal Hewley are dispatched to Wutai in order to investigate the mysterious disappearance of another SOLDIER unit and also to resolve the military situation taking place there. Many other characters from Final Fantasy VII, including Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris, are confirmed to be in the game, but their role in the plot is unclear as of yet.

So that's all. Crisis Core does not have a confirmed release date, but is slated to be released in Japan later this year.

Rujuken Wonder what role Cloud could be playing. If its 7 years before VII, then he would be like 14 or 15 years old.

laszlow, your post seems to be incomplete or cut off. Your first paragraph ends with "Angeal" as the start of a sentence and just stops. Did you have more to say or is that a typo?

No-Name If you can play as zack I'm totally going to check it out. And I'm guessing cloud will just be a lowly guard?.

sweetdude I'm more interested in what they have planned plot-wise. If it's seven years previous to FFVII, then will that be before or after the war in Wutai? It must be before. If this is seven years before the events in FFVII, and the war in Wutai ended just before Cloud joined (five year previous) then we can work out that Crisis Core is during what must be the war period; the war lasting up to two years, but might be less. It looks like we will see how it started (Godo definitely wanted it) so I'm really looking forward to this now. Now with the price cut in PSPs, coupled with the list of games that I'd play (Killzone, MGS:PO, Tekken, more) I am seriously considering making the purchase.

I was cutting and pasting different parts of the paragraph, and ended up shortening it to a third of what it used to be. That extra word was some accidental leftovers.
