Vicks, Wedge, and Terra near their destination. Little do they know of the danger that awaits them in this remote mining town. I took a little liberty with the magitek armor, and I probably could have done a better job on the mountains, but satisfied overall for a practice piece. My goal is to streamline my workflow and turn things around quicker. finalalias's Profile Tweet |

Despite your "liberties" with the Magitek, which I think look very good, you managed to capture the feel of the game's graphic style through the backgrounds (the mountains and clouds and such). I think this is really good work. You ought to continue to do fanart.

Yeah, I don't mind your alterations to the Magitek Soldiers either. They're different, but the style still really fits the game: they still capture the sort of old-school mechanized look. The mountains look pretty cool too, and I like the icy wind sweeping on through. Nice work!

I really do think this is good work.

It's the layout that really impresses me the most. The composition is incredibly cinematic.

Thanks a bunch guys! And yeah, BlitzSage, you should check out Terragen. It takes a few days to learn, but it's great for certain types of background work.

Nothin' but different shades of violet for the scenery...I likes! The wind effect's pretty nifty, too.

Sadly I am not sold on the different Magitek, i like the more steampunk feel. These come off to me more like protoss from starcraft. Yet the think that stuck out to me the most in this picture is the artists take on the scene. I like how the Magitek each have their own small patch of mountain they seamed to have climbed onto, rather than one giant cliff they all stand on. I also like the perspective from I am assuming Terra, being able to see the other two Magitek.
Overall very well done and stunning.
