This was a lost painting till that Celes sketch got me to thinkin' about the other ones. When I went to look for the sketches in question, I came across this watercolour. I wasn't 'feeling' the painting part of it at the time, so I just put it away, and went on to watercolour the other one instead. Minimal colours used in this piece: yellow ochre, grey, green, purple. I think this has to be a new record for least time spent painting. It took a whole two minutes to put it out. It sure is easy when the drawing is done and you're not using a lot of colours. I wanted to show the two sides of Cecil, the dark knight and paladin. Now, this is something I've done before (try, 'done many times') but the subject still appeals to me. I didn't want to get bogged down by putting in lots of detail or parts of him not pertinent. When I did the watercolour part, I found something still missing and that's when I threw on that rough ink swatch. For some reason, it really finished the piece for me.
