| Well, not to brag! But this is my favorite thing I've done so far, I think. I just loved working on this one! On the last one, it was all about applying tactics I knew and making them work for me. This one was much more carefree, and I just kind of rolled with whatever color I happened to pick. I definitely wanted a predominantly yellow/red/purple picture, but as you can see on the shading of the couple, sometimes it's red, sometimes purple. I love Celes' bird nose. She's so hard to draw because canonically, she is both beautiful and battle-hardened. It's a tough line: Do you make her muscular and tough, or beautiful and dainty? And I think her nose and expression give her a whimsical fragility I've never been able to nail with her before. Not that she looks tough here, but her relationship with Locke was never about her tough side, and that's what I wanted to convey :) Trying to get better drawing men, and backgrounds. I'm happy with both, so success :D The trees and coloration is very WoR, though the trees really look like something from WoW more than FFVI, haha. | I think this is your best work yet. I really like the contrast of the clarity of definition of the characters with the faded color. The detail on Locke's clothes is also really well done. Great job! | |

| It really shows that you're working on both your men and backgrounds. In fact, those were the first two things I noticed (in that order even,) when I looked at this. Quote (My Inner Dialogue) "Wow, Locke looks pretty spot-on for a guy on a casual fling in an awesome purple forest at dusk." If I had to be critical, I would say the only thing that put me off was the lighting. I'm not great with art terminology, but the best way I can articulate it is to say that there doesn't seem to be enough shadows to me. Of course, shading strikes me as a delicate thing, and it's a fine line between "perfect" and "too dark". But, who cares about that? You've got form, concept, and color like crazy here.  | |
