I'd have to agree with him on both parts. 1) I don't necessarily think that the Wii's main selling point is it's motion control. It's really because it's cheaper and family-friendly. Sony and Microsoft adding motion control isn't going to give them Mario and Zelda. But.... 2) The only thing that gives the other two consoles an advantage is that they are high-def, and I could see Nintendo trying to bridge that gap.

I agree, that the Wii's main selling point is its family nature, with games that appeal to a wider audience than 360 and PS3. If anything in the next generation, we'll see those two competitors try to increase the range of their games so as to take a bigger stake in the casual gamer market.

Quote (Death Penalty @ 22nd September 2009 17:08) I agree, that the Wii's main selling point is its family nature, with games that appeal to a wider audience than 360 and PS3. If anything in the next generation, we'll see those two competitors try to increase the range of their games so as to take a bigger stake in the casual gamer market. Yeah, you've seen that happen already, with such things as Little Big Planet and the new avatars on the Xbox 360. It's really obvious that Sony and Microsoft are trying to catch up with Nintendo, and I'm sure Nintendo will try to do the same.
