Great. Now nobody's ever going to shut up about WoW. Just what the rest of us needed.

I love WoW, myself. I'm not getting TBC for some time yet though, because I have no interest in rolling a belf or Drenei, and I can't see the extra content for another 34 levels.

Quote The title was released in both North America and Europe, Correlation does not always imply causation, but I do believe this is a major contributing factor. Videogame companies take note you get better sales when you sell to America and Europe at the same time. But the chance of being heard by a corporate CEO 0%

Quote World of Warcraft already had the reputation of being addicting the point of stealing friends and family away, and I can only imagine how many people who may have grown stagnant in the realm of Azeroth will re-enter the world now that they have lots of new content to enjoy. Well I, for one, welcome our new videogame overlords. /bow Does anyone know how well Everquest did in it's heyday? Did it even come close to comparing to WoW's numbers?

Like I told Neal in chat, I'm glad that my husband doesn't expect me to share him with a computer game. This news is really kinda sad if you look at it like junkies buying crack. ![]()

Quote (Hamedo @ 24th January 2007 08:29) Does anyone know how well Everquest did in it's heyday? Did it even come close to comparing to WoW's numbers? It's not even close. Before WoW, a game was considered a successful MMORPG if they had 100,000 users, and that includes Everquest. WoW has done slightly better than that, since they have over 8 million active accounts.
