Word to Your Moogle. I Mean, Wow.

Final Fantasy XIII-2
To support the pending launch of Final Fantasy XIII-2, Square Enix started a promotion called - I'm not joking here - "Word to Your Moogle" at Comic-Con in San Diego. It's a game that was played by people in attendance at the con, in which players received buttons from Squenix with letters on them, and then had to team up with other visitors to form words either from a list at the Squenix booth or from a Final Fantasy game, and travel back to the booth to earn prizes.

The prizes include a "Word to Your Moogle" t-shirt - guaranteed to get you the attention of your desired gender while out clubbing, a Squenix online store gift certificate, a signed copy of XIII-2 upon release, a bundle with the signed game, guide, and soundtrack, or even a custom-designed PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Like I say, this kicked off at Comic-Con. However, it's still going on. If you're going to PAX Prime this month, up in Washington state, or Comic-Con in New York City next month, you too can participate in the same way.

So, all in all - actually a pretty great idea for a contest, but, really? "Word to Your Moogle?" My goodness.

Death Penalty Say what you want about this contest name, but I would do shameful things to own one of those shirts.

Aeris-Logan It could be worse. "Word to your Moogle" shirt would be eye catching for sure, especially where I live.

Insegredious And to think, I find out about this the day after I purchased my NYC Comic Con tickets. Coincidence? Probably.

It would be even more awesome if I get my Bartz cosplay together. Or Locke, which I imagine would be much easier than the Bartz outfit I'm shooting for (I'm not good with sewing).

I prefer to keep my nerdiness out of plain sight... I don't like to advertise it.

This is why I bought this shirt. The only people who can tell it's an internet thing are people who know what it is. I wear it to work. Everyday. Fact: I have never made more in tips.

That aside... I can't seem to find a picture of the shirt itself, but I have to assume it fits Josh's description of being a sex magnet. I'm not sure how I feel about the promotion itself in terms of how effective it can hope to be as an advertising tool. Considering how low-key Square has always seemed to me (not that there weren't ads. Rather that they were scarce), I have to wonder how all the flash and bang is going to work out for them.

That's the front. The back, I believe, has the imagery from the tour, like a concert tour shirt would, so, something like this:

Only it has the dates instead of the challenge words. I know I've seen an image like that somewhere, but can't find it now.

BlitzSage That's actually a pretty cool shirt. Still wouldn't partake in that contest though...

RelmArrowney So I thought the shirts were really cute, so I googled "Word to your moogle shirt" to see if maybe Square Enix was selling them, and you guys were the first to pop up, haha. Not as helpful as I wanted, but still neat!

Shotgunnova I guess "Mimic Daravon" got shot down in the name-testing phase. shifty.gif
