New PSP - Now with Video Output

Revealed in yesterday's E3 conference, Sony's handheld is now undergoing a redesign. The new one is significantly slimmer and lighter, and now has a video output that lets you play PSP games on a television screen. The new PSPs also feature faster loading times and improved battery life.

These new models will be released in 2007. There is also a new package deal and price point - the "piano black" and "ice silver" color schemes will cost $199 US and come bundled with a 1-gig memory stick, the game "Daxter", and a UMD of "The Family Guy Freakin' Sweet Collection," while a "Star Wars Battlefront Special Edition" PSP (vanilla white with a black image of Darth Vader on the back) will come with the memory stick as well as a copy of Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. The original PSP will retain its recently reduced cost of $169 US.

Rangers51 I really hope this means an eventual price cut in the original, even though from your post it won't be immediate. Get that thing down to $129 and I'd be almost ready to buy one for FF1, FF2, and FFT.

Which reminds me, you lucky ducks who already have one can preorder FFT through AmaCoN. smile.gif

gdizzlew psp firmware 3.03 and above can play psx games straight from the memory stick if u know how to rip the game and convert it...which means final fantasy 1-9 and tactics !!! i have final fantasy 8 on my psp, it's sik.

You've posted the same thing in three different places. Stop it.

Hacking your PSP is possible with firmware below 3.51, and hacking it does allow you to play PS1 games from your memory stick. None of the official Sony firmwares after 1.0 allow you to play your own PS1 games, and the FF games aren't in the PlayStation Store.

If this is the only thing you have to say, you've said it, so stop posting. tongue.gif
