Hooray! Those numbers are incredible; I take them as a sign that CoN will just keep growing and growing in the future. Cheers to every forum, chat, and site regular, and cheers to Josh for starting it all for us. ^_^ -Phoenix

Watch us Grow (Hey, that was the motto for my High School's football team) But unlike my HS's football team, CoN will actually do it. Keep it coming people ![]()

Those are IMPRESSIVE numbers! Just wondering--are there stats for new members joining? I really like this site!

Quote (Glenn Magus Harvey @ 1st November 2003 11:29) Those are IMPRESSIVE numbers! Just wondering--are there stats for new members joining? I really like this site! If I get what you're asking, here are some recent monthly totals for new forum members. 23 new members in October. 24 new members in September. 39 new members in August (!). 36 new members in July. 28 new members in June. The summer months are usually our busiest. It's definitely true in chat, and seems to be that way at the forums, though posts have been plentiful lately. Edit And since I'm taking the opportunity to talk about stats in chat as well, check out the [dohtml]offical chatstats[/dohtml]. Maybe it'll convince more people to come in. ![]()

so, how do you get chat to work then? Moderator Edit First thing is, post on topic. Chat doesn't work for those who don't. -R51

The stats come from the memberlist, which doesn't count people who've never posted. Look for yourself. All of those 150 people have contributed or asked something. Quite obviously, they haven't all become regulars, not least because not everyone wants to be a regular on an FF forum. I defy you to find a forum with that kind of retention. It's also difficult to measure who's "sticking around" as an exact figure, given that people leave and return, and some people just post very infrequently anyway. The best thing you can do is head for the memberlist, sort by reg. date descending, and see how many names you remember. We aren't the biggest FF site, by a long way. That's the point, in some ways. This forum isn't a free-for-all "Who can make the most posts that only say 'lol'" affair. I encourage you to read Iain Peregrine's comment in the 20000 post thread for some backup to that. But the point is this: our figures are huge compared to our own past figures. For reference, here are the figures from October 2002, one year ago: Quote (October 2002 Stats) Sites: 8025 Visits: 11740 Pages: 68088 Files: 494303 Hits: 958398 That, sir, is growth.

It's the fact that I host you guys that gets so many visitors. They hear that the MIGHTY Bill is hosting you at his FORTRESS OF GAMING GOODNESS, opgaming.com, and they flock here to celebrate in my grandness. Your welcome.

Outta pure curiosity, where do you think the CoN stands on the list of FF sites out there Top Cat (or any of the other staff for that matter)? Personal opinion o course. I figure once you get rid of all the sites with 'Final Fantasy' in the url, it's pretty high up, if not higher. ![]()
