Final Fantasy XV in 1080p

Final Fantasy XV
Final Fantasy XV is obviously going to be a high-res game. We're fully in the current generation now and there's no possible excuse otherwise. However, we hadn't seen it as such, and that's a shame.

Not now, though - last week, Square Enix released a 1080p version of what we'd previously seen, and if you liked the direction it was going before you should really love it now. Of course, this video's on the web, and therefore the resolution you really get is going to be a function of your internet and viewing device capabilities, but it does look pretty impressive maxed out and fullscreened on my machine.

It looks to me like the framerate could still use a bit of work, and while the main features such as characters, backgrounds, vehicles, and monsters look phenomenal, some of the smaller assets like grasses still have some refinement to go. Even unfinished, this is probably worth checking out to see what all those years have been doing!

bakedsabbath It's about time they released more footage for this game, It kinda reminds me of the world/battle system in FF 12 but a lot more updated and fast. That car (although obviously more realistic) also reminds me of how in FF 8 how you can rent a car and drive it and have to pay for fuel if something like that was in the game that'd be cool and maybe you can drive other vehicles? As for the graphics I couldn't really care less but even though they look amazing so far. Now i'm just waiting on them to announce the release date. tongue.gif

Actually, I also thought of FFVIII right away when I saw the FFXV car - possibly also because they have a technological/futurey aspect in common.

I remember - possibly years ago, it's been so long in development! - reading that they wanted to bring back vehicles and even an airship for what was then still Versus XIII. Obviously a fair bit has changed since then, so who knows what will be retained from these earlier accounts of the game. But I for one am hopeful!
