And Yea, the Dead Threads Shall Rise

Caves of Narshe Site News
With this year's CoNniversary just a week away, we've decided that now's a great time to have a Necromancy Week - while our guidelines about reviving old threads has always revolved around the concept of adding something new and good to the old mix, we're going to use this week to try to get everyone involved. Over the next week, you'll see some CoN staffers going back into the significant forum archives and plucking out the best - and possibly the worst, at least of the threads not buried at sea - for a resurrection to the land of the living.

You don't have to wait for us to do it, though. We're looking for you guys to voice your opinions on ancient things too. Just go to the forum of your choice, filter posts to show all posts from "the beginning," and start digging. Post in as many as you like, and post in the threads that others have conjured from the abyss; all we ask is that you pick the threads that are still potentially relevant so that there's something worth saying there. laszlow has already gotten started!

For my part, I plan to focus on threads that make long-time members look like they were morons when they were younger, as well as threads that fawn all over CoN. It's the only way to fly. Hope you all find something that grabs your fancy too!

That's what I'm afraid of.

Oh well, we can always pretend we've made significant strides in our maturity levels.

Glenn Magus Harvey I see I will be directing my idle energy of boredom to these forums in the near future.

BlitzSage I remember I posted a dumb thread when I first joined. I might do a new thread regarding that topic.

Edit
Oh, how I hate reading my old posts... it's embarrassing... lol

Djibriel I thought I'd revive any of the FFVI trivia threads, but they're all locked...

Rangers51 Thanks, everyone, who participated in this Necromancy Week. We got a lot of good posts here, and, of course, some of the other kind, just like any forum. smile.gif

We're done for the week in promoting thread necromancy, but don't forget that the rules of CoN don't have anything against necromancy. Feel free to bring back any old unlocked threads, as long as you have something good to add to the old conversation!

Glenn Magus Harvey Well, let's enjoy our anniversary celebration anyway!

Tonepoet I don't know how I missed this thread since I thought I gave the front page a pretty good cursory look over for recent developments but apparently not. Oh well, happy belated anniversary CoN. The site has lasted an impressive 14 years and may we last at least another 14 years more. Wish I could've participated in the special event buuut... yeah. Also I'm surprised that not only were threads resurrected from the backlogs but one particularly infamous thread was unlocked and unstickied.

On the peripheral subtopic, I'd say I'd dodged the embarrassment but truthfully I think everybody dislikes looking at their old posts. I think I had a discussion about that with Neal once in #narshe. At the very least I can say I've made a bunch of typographical errors in the past that I can scarcely but help to think I should probably edit again, even though I don't think my grasp on general grammar is really much better now than it was in the past.... I don't even think I want to look at the content I wrote again. blush.gif

BlitzSage This will be a good thread to perform necromancy on one time again.
