Biography

Umaro is a yeti living deep in the Caves of Narshe (yes, we know they're mines!). He can be seen from some parts of Narshe standing in a cave opening, well before he can be recruited. Umaro is an acquaintance of Mog, and when you finally meet Umaro he joins the party on Mog's orders.

Gameplay

Umaro joins with the powerful Snow Scarf and Bone Club equipped, but they can't be changed or removed - Umaro is unable to equip any other equipment, including shields, helms, or additional Bone Clubs (the Genji Glove is useless on Umaro). Umaro also can't equip Espers, use magic, or use items in combat - Umaro fights as a berserker (like Gau's Rage or Mog's Dance), only attacking with his club or tackling enemies. Umaro's Relics are customizable by the player, however, and the Berserker Ring or Blizzard Orb cause Umaro to use new attacks.
