I don't remember the exact time because it was so long ago, but I think I finished the game one time in the 18th hour. I haven't seriously played it for time before.

First of all, is this on the PS1 Hardtype or the SNES Easytype? It definitely makes a difference. I personally have never done a speed playthrough for FF IV (only VII and IX).

Second of all, don't you hate FF IV, NeoExDeath? Pretty much every single FF IV post I've seen of yours is about how much you despise it. Why are you boasting about a speed run if you don't like the game at all?

I did it rather quickly. Skipping the sealed cave subtracts hours from your time. Coupled with other various corner cuts- I can tackle the game in 12:06' hours on hardtype. More pain in the ass than it's worth, really. Especially when Big Bang kills 4/5 of your characters. Normally I don't really like speed playthroughs. This one just sort of happened because I was trying to get a screenshot from the end of the game. I wouldn't recommend the speed playthrough unless you've played the game 100 times prior and really know weaknesses and what not. If I included the cave, I figure it would add another 2 hours. Could be more, could be less. Not real positive.

I don't like FFIV, yet I still play it around time. It's not the worst FF, but I still feel like playing it when I want to train or just pass one part and play it next week or so..

It's the FFIIUS SNES version I mentioned. In PSX, I took 30 hours to beat it (Not a lengthy game because I had to go and eat dinner, do chores, etc. while leaving it on.. In FFV, it's all about training O.O).

And by the way, I forgot to say, I beat Zeromus with only one character: Cecil Paladin Harvey, because Zeromus's big bangs were either too weak or average in power.. And he hardly uses meteo, what's up with that? lol.

I'm really bad at doing quick games, I always try to get everything so when I do a speed game it ends up not being impressive..........I think my quickest file was in the 26th hour.

I don't enjoy speed games. To me, enjoying the game involves taking my time to fully experience it, not hurrying through as fast as I can. I doubt that I've ever beaten FFIV with less than 40 hours on the clock.

I beat SNES in about 19 hours, as a young kid. I wasn't very good though. I loved the game but I always messed up and definetely didn't know how to play.

I will be beating Hardtype in about the same time 18 to 20 hours... i think that's more impressive. haven't played it for half a year or so though.

9 Hours? Wow! I thought I was doing well when I blazed through it at just under 12. I hate skipping the Land of Summoned Monsters though because you can't get Bahamut. Once you get Bahamut, you don't even need Meteo. It was the first time I ever thought Zeromus was hard. I think Cecil was at level 51 or 52.

My shortest time is roughly 10 years and still counting, as I began it in 1996 and still haven't gotten around to beating it...

I hope that wasn't 10 yrs continueously!

Well, probably not, but I guess that's like me and FFI. I started playing when I was still in elementary school (3rd or 4th grade, I think) and I graduated in 1999. Still haven't finished the game.

I just did FFIV advance (just beating the game, not all the secrets) in about 19 hours, that includes probably pausing and going a bit slowly by multitasking online and stuff... i could have done 18 if i wasn't a mulitasker.

I know that on easytype I used to have about 10 hours wether that was my record or my brothers I have no clue. I don't usually pay attention to the time because I'm more of a completist. I'm more likely to be seen scouring the edges of the map for secrets and stuff. That one hidden elixir in the clock or whatever.
