I'd say Cid, but I am a bit biased.... I have always liked him as a fighter.

Cid, especially when you finish his challenge and get the Fire Hammer. Random Flares are always a good thing.
Edward gets the "most improved award" for becoming an active person in my party. Being quicker and owning a long-range weapon make him very nice. -------------------- |

Whad'ya mean "now playable"? They've ALWAYS been playable!
Yeah, nevermind me... I'd say Yang, but that's more 'cause he's about even with Edge in my games normally ('cept with better defense). So I don't really see him as more improved, just more powerful due to now being able to level up further and obtain better claws, and the strongest of the choices as it is, in my experience. I guess for most improved it'd actually be Cid. At least now he's hitting stuff rather than missing the targets eight outta ten times. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. I voted for Gildward.
I've known for a while that he's one of the best at the higher levels. Chant is probably the best new ability in FFIVA, and seeing this undervalued character consistently best Kain just makes me laugh every time. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

I agree with Dark Paladin. Edward is an extremely good character once you get the good equipment.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view I'd agree that Edward is the most improved, especially with Loki's Lute. I don't care for Cid because he's so SLOW. Yang is decent, but hardly ever does more than 5k (just got to level 99). I think Edge is far better with Sasuke and the illusory one (can't recall the name). He is actually doing the most damage on a regular basis and is the fastest character too. I almost can't stand the flare from the hammer or the holy from the sword because they either cause a horrid counter attack or get reflected back at me on most of the ruins enemies that they'd do me some good on. I did see the tornado from the lance kill Brachioraidos in one hit though. It didn't weaken him, just killed him outright. that about sums it up. -------------------- I'm the root of all that's evil yeah, but you can call me cookie. -BHG FF3DS friend code: 4424-8076-6097 |

I never tried Final Fantasy 4 Advance yet, but I'm gonna..
But I much preferred Yang over all the others. He was really cool. Even though he got annoying with that "ACHOOO!!!" quote in FF2us. How could you NOT put Palom and Porom together as another option? I really loved their Twin command they could cast high-level spells like Flare, etc.. But yeah, Yang overall is my favorite. I had no use for Edward. All he did was just randomly confuse mosnters or put them to sleep. Though I'll give him credit for that Heal command he came with. Cid's ok. He atleast scanned monsters. |

Palom, just because I enjoy mass Meteo/Nuke-ing the enemy. Magic has a high place in my priorities.

Quote (Dark Paladin @ 9th February 2006 15:34) I voted for Gildward. I've known for a while that he's one of the best at the higher levels. Chant is probably the best new ability in FFIVA, and seeing this undervalued character consistently best Kain just makes me laugh every time. Totally. His speed isn't bad and he deals a good 2000+ damage per attack if in the front row in the Lv.80's. He's pretty badass these days. |

Cid. Cause he finally made my dream come true. He smashed the final boss with his hammer of infinite justice...
Ahem. I found Cid most useful because Yang's HP stopped growing. 6000 is a lot, but Yang gets destroyed by magic. Cid's got that Fiery Hammer, crazy damage plus random Flare. The only problem I have with him is that he has no speed or one-handed weapons worth a flying rat. The twins were okay. I think Porom didn't learn either Cure4 or Life2 for forever though. Two frail for my taste. Edward was freaking Edward. Sure he was kinda wimpy, but he's as fast as the ninja, but he can...not get damaged. Edge has a habit of getting destroyed at every turn, thank the FSM for boomerangs. Besides, Sing worked alot more in this game then I remember. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M.
