Ok everyone what is your favorite class? I know there are many other classes (i.e. Trainer, Mime, Chemist, etc.) but there are only 10 slots, and that is what Other is for  :E

I don't quite know why Ninja and Samurai were put together, since they represent vastly different character classes.  However, I like both, so I'm not going to complain.  ;)

The Ninjas are very powerful, capable of weilding two blades and devastating enemy lines with blinding speed, powerful attack, deadly throwing weapons, and sometimes potent status/attack magics.  Not to mention that ninjas represent one of the coolest character classes as well, shrouded as they are in the enigma and mystique that befits a warrior of the night.  Besides, Shadow, arguably my favorite RPG character ever, and definitely the greatest Final Fantasy ninja ever, belongs to that character class.

Samurai are awesome warriors in all of their respective incarnations.  Several different games have chosen to use the Samurai job class in different ways, ranging from the versatile abilities (and cheapness of $toss) in FFV to the powerful sword unlocking skills of FFT.  All in all, the Samurai is a powerful frontline warrior, particularly when you add in the fact that they are capable of wielding their favored weapons with both hands.  The Samurai's katana weapons are also some of the most powerful in the Final Fantasy universe, particularly the Murasame and the Masamune.

Hmm.. So many classes...

Arc Knight -  -3 speed 100%. Nuff said.

Astrologist - GALAXY STOP

Holy Swordsman - godly T.G. Cid

Lune Knight - surprisingly strong, almost a Holy Swordsman...

Arch/Holy Angel - Tele 2, beeyotch

No idea what's my favorite, really...

no, i don't know much about FFT, but...
%%%
how can you forget about Bard? I like that job best, because it supports others well. That would be similar to time mage, but the time mage have to totally rely on other characters, while bard can fight on their own if they have to. (most of time mage's spells are based on percentage while bard kind of adds the stats...well, not every spell ;p )

I'm guessing this refers to FFT...but it could mean other FF's too.

Anywho,  I voted for Lancer.  I mean, almost as much armor and defense as a Knight, high attack, plus the bizzatching Jump ability, which is very...very...useful in FFT.  Especially when fighting up elevations and large areas.  Plus they're just plain cool.  Look cool, act cool, fight cool, what more do you want?  Plus some great characters were Lancers like Mog, Kain, Edgar, etc.  'Nuff said.

Second place goes to the Ninja/Samurai.  Although Ninjas and Samurais are extremely different, I love both classes anyway.  Ninjas are fast and have a two swords ability.  Samurais have good abilities and two hands ability.  Both are very cool too.  Wish you could get a Rurouni Kenshin-type samurai though  :p

Well I have never played FFT, I am mostly baseing this poll on FF5 (which I am once again playing) so I don't know how different the classes are between the 2 games. And as for the whole samauri/ninja controvery, yes I know they are very different but I consider them to be very important and wanted to include them in the poll....that and I was a little buzzed when I did this  :E

well, it's similar exept in FFT, you get new jobs by mastering one job (not by events) and it's tactic based with land mark which makes more difference (like I heard those archers on the tower are annoying :p )

Laaaaaanceeeer. With a little luck, you can keep jumping without getting hurt. Spears are great. And they can equip heavy armor. Sweeet.

Apparently, I'm the first to vote for Summoner.  Summoners are the best.  How can you beat someone who can call upon incredibly powerful creatures?  I know why people don't really favor Summoners.  Summoners are usually given some of the worst stats, to balance out the power of their Summons, but that only means they have the best potential.  So, I chose Summoenr and you should too.

I am also the first to vote for what I voted for. I chose Monk because he's just so versatile. If you don't feel like using him for offense, then his recovery abilities will make him worth your while, and his "shakra" ability makes him the perfect support guy for a group of magic users.  :nods:

So many classes are sooooo good just depending on your style, but lancer definitely has some great advantages that are tough to overlook.

For one, s/he can equip all of the heavy armor.  His spear can cover two spaces, so he doesn't have to worry about being counterattacked in most cases.  He can jump (like Kappa said, it's an incredibly useful ability) practically the whole field regardless of elevation when raised all the way.  And when you get his best lance and the best shield later in the game (the move-find at the temple battle; i forget all of these important names)..... he's practically unhittable and unblockable.  :o

Sounds really good to me  :E
