First off-its nice. A good drawn sketch, though its just doesn't look like Terra too much.It has some sort of Renee Zellweger look, but it is good.
I'm still not too sure why you'd want to make a blue Terra, but ah well. -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Life goes on... |

Nicely done.
Its realistic and you seem to have all the shading bits for the facial features. Like at the edge of the nose and the pieces of the mouth. The hair is done well making it look like separate strands of hair instead of one piece. Her right eye looks a bit big for realism, if that is what you were going for. The eyes are still done well though. I really can't point out any other faults. Blue is always a nice color to work with. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Looks great... and oddly enough, when I read the title, the words 'Ailsean' and 'OC Remix' popped into my head...

Terra in Blue seems to be a way of showing her inner emotions. She's blue, sad, mixed up, torn.
I really like it, myself. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Interesting style. As for me, that is how I picture Terra (more or less). Nicely done.

Goods: I absolutely adore her neck and shoulder area. It's so delicate but precise. I'm giving you a gold star sticker for that! The rest of the form is also well drawn and structured. 3/4 of what makes a good picture is the form.
Could be betters: You have made some attempts at putting some shadow in, and the area that it works best in is the neck area (again, GREAT!). But, there should be a deeper shadow on the left side of her face where the bangs come down. More places to put deeper shadow in: under the eyebrows (above the eyelid, going to the bridge of the nose), the under part of the ponytail (you have this REVERSED). The part in her hair strikes me as odd, even though I know what you probably had in mind. You wanted to make an off center part, but how it comes across visually is that her face is going to be turned at a different angle that presented. Keep on drawing! *This critique has been brought to you by Kame; Kame - Annoying you since 1981* This post has been edited by Kame on 21st July 2004 17:25 -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" A gold star sticker! *wears it with pride* Thanks Kame.
Elena - I like your perspective on the whole blue thing, quite poetic. Rujuken - I was aiming for pseudo-realism, and the big eyes are just an off-shoot of drawing lots of anime I guess..at any rate, I think I prefer them that way, if simply for the fact that it makes them more fun to colour. Wind God Gau - Ailsean, OC Remix? I must investigate this further.. And..Sherick...Renee Zellweger. Oh dear. -------------------- Rules For Cooking Toast Be accurate when cooking toast Never try to guess Cook it til it smokes and then Twenty seconds less. |
