For some reason the chat never loads for me. What are the requirements to use the chat.

You just need a Java-enabled browser and a lot of patience.

If you're having problems, try downloading the latest JRE from the Java homepage.

Still, some people have problems even then.  Try the "backup client" button, it may work better for you.  Or, even better, use mIRC.

If the client is actually loading (or you're using mIRC) but it's just failing to connect to the server, that's likely to be a problem with your internet connection configuration, or a temporary problem with the DarkMyst network on which the channel resides.
