I know none of the games in the final fantasy series ever connect in any way, but i would like to put out the question of what it would be like, do you think, if there was a crossover game made (sort of like 'tales of the world' for the Tales games)

Describe what you think a crossover games for the final fantasy series might be like.

Kingdom Hearts links some of the characters from multiple FF games, but not in the sense I think you mean.

Well, excluding Kingdom Hearts, I'd say Ivalice would be the most likely world (simply because they already tossed Cloud into there by way of a magical device - why not import the rest, so to speak?). As for storyline, who knows?

Personally, I think I'd like to see a Final Fantasy Real Time Strategy game based on either FFT (The Lion War would work alright, I suppose, but there was a bigger war that preceeded it, if my understanding is correct) or FFVII (This one using the setting of the Wutai vs Shinra war). It would be a completely new twist on the series, and Square could include various well-known characters as Hero/Special Character units.
