Quote (Mu the Squirrel @ 26th September 2004 11:12) i honestly found some of the normal encounters in the temple harder than Garland. Really? ...but he told us that he was going to knock us all down! Didn't it take you at least 5 minutes to recover from the emotional impact of that insult? Yeah, Garland was a major wuss, except for the first time that I fought him. The first time he was a slight challenge. (One of my first experiences with console-like RPG games.) |

Garland...a problem? Not one bit. I think I had trouble with him my first run through the game, but that was because I was new to the whole RPG thing. I had a Fighter, Black Belt, White Mage, and Red Mage. I think it was the Fighter and Red Mage doing all of the work because the other two had such low hit accuracy.

It took me a few rounds to best him, but he didn't provide much of a challenge. I hadn't leveled up in preparation, but I found that I didn't really need to.

The first time I fought him, I was used to the FF6 attack system, where if you attack one thing it dies, and then you just hit the next one. So my small party was bashed on the way there. I also didn't know you needed to purhase stuff first (unlike most RPGs where you are equiped off the bat) so I had no magic or weapons and well you can guess...
