E.T. Wins hands down for me!
the main reason being that I started the game up on an atari emulator and immediatley stopped playing. that has never happened to me with any other game before or since. and I Google searched worst game and E.T. was in the top ten. That's a really hard question. Maybe Just Cause, although freefalling from a great height and somehow pulling up and landing without any damage like a jet aeroplane has become extremely funny. My friend and I like competing to see who can do it the best on the demo occasionally. Either that or we see who can land on something. Bonus points for whoever lands on a person.
There was a certain Jimmy White's Cueball which I picked up a long time ago because I had £1 of store credit on a receipt and that was the only game in the shop for that price. It was terrible, of course, but what made it even more terrible was that we couldn't find anything silly to do like we usually find in bad games. Even The World Is Not Enough (James Bond) had the Blackjack table. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

I'm sure there were some pretty terrible NES games that I played when I was younger, but I don't remember them that well. Plus every game is good when you're a kid lol. So pulling games from recent memory I'm gonna say Yu Yu Hakuhso for the PS2. That game was awful to the max.

All consoles have at least more t han 1 bad game at least. Although i do not remember or think i played any of the bad ones. I remember the first bof was not that good in names. And the music in breath of fire 1 for the cave? OMG!! it was so bad that i was actually laughing at the music.I turned it off alot as well as it is used alot and some scenes you here dungeon music continuously wich is the worse of all. Worse rpg i've ever played: 1:secret of the stars:DAMM!! worse rpg i've ever played. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_vLVu-Fve4&feature=related 1:The story was unoriginal and uninspiring 2:The graphics were ridiculously bad for its time, even for snes series. 3:The music was not that good either 4:The gameplay was pretty bad I would give this game about:1 wich is bad enough that i started it played an hour or so and then turned it off,i was also advancing but i simply thought it was too bad a game to continue. There was another, but i cannot remember its name wich is a good thing i think. This game was pretty lame. What kind of game makes a boss with the name homecruise? Well yeah, of course, but as I got older I became more selective about which games I was willing to try out because I could tell which ones I would like and which I wouldn't. Yu Yu Hakusho was an exception because I was a fan of the anime. That game isn't worth thinking about even for a fan of the series though, it's so terrible. |

Lagoon for the SNES. It's a bad Zelda clone and dungeon crawler with poorly-constructed abilities, frustrating difficulty based on poor scaling and brokenness, and completely uninteresting storyline, characters, audio, and visuals. What a waste of time.
EDIT: Second place is Day Dreamin' Davey for the NES. It's probably "technically" worse than Lagoon is, because it's bad without any explanation or justification, but my memories of playing Lagoon are worse than those of playing Davey. So there. What a waste of time. Hahahaha. I just saw this thread and was about to write about Lagoon when I saw your post. Wow. You are my hero, Lasz. Seriously, though. That game is brutal. I have played some bad games in my days, but that takes the cake hands down. You forgot to mention the worst part about this game: IT HAS SIX #$*%& FINAL BOSSES!! Half of them can instantly kill you if you face the wrong direction when they hit you due to poor mechanics, and the other half can't even be reached due to the extreme knockback of their attacks. I don't know WHAT possessed the makers to create this abomination, but securely holds down the top of my worst games list. -------------------- Is PJ |

I know that, before I was allowed to have a "TV videogame system" I played some pretty awful games on the GBC. I can't remember them for the life of me though!
I didn't like FFV very much at all, so it's definitely up there... I don't think I've played to many other games that I really didn't like... I'm generally pretty stingy with my money overall, so I usually don't make many bad investments in general. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! haha. The second I saw this topic, I thought of my snes days and pawnshop hopping. I bought 'Cliff hanger' for the snes, 'cause l loved the movie and had no previous expirence with movie games.
Dear god, did that game suck. It was like a horrible final fight clone that never ended. The grafics were horrible and it made no sense in termms of the films story. It was also impossible to beat, and I don't care how good of gamer you are. -------------------- "You know that feeling you get when you're on a merry go 'round, and you want to jump off to make the spinning stop, but you know it'll suck when you land? Token Unlimited Saga reference. About 10% of it is misunderstood; the other 90% is like a gordian knot wrapped in a conundrum. It just tries so hard to reinvent the wheel that it's very alienating and almost unplayable (not that the manual helps much).

OMG, Superman 64... Worst idea EVER! I remember going through all those stupid rings over and over again, trying to barely skim by the first part to get to a cool part. After the rings came the nonsense about catching some bad guys in cars, and there wasn't enough time to do that either. Any game that gives you like a five second time limit and no instructions whatsoever is worthy of the 'worst game ever' title!

Why would you post the same thing twice magitek?
Anyhow, I didn't much care for Luigi's mansion but that was alright. I'll make no mention of my current disposition as to FF12 because I know some people will skin me alive. I despised 8 and 10 as well as 10's horrible sequel. Jericho. That game was horrific for me. The graphics were great, the storyline (read it) was interesting, but the gameplay was horrible. I spent more time shooting and resurrecting my team members than fighting my enemies. They would run into my gunfire and every time I moved position so I wouldn't be shooting them, they moved back into my line of fire!

This is solely because of the multiplayer experience I had, but the one game I will never play again is Call of Duty 4. The guy I played with was an obnoxious jerk of a sniper that got us to play after he memorized ever inch of the maps and just hid and sniped us. Ruined the whole game for all of us

Pretty much the only thing that comes to mind is “Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday” for the SNES. I recall renting this game when I was 8. Forty-five minutes later I was done. The End, Roll Credits. I realize the game was likely aimed at young kids, but is substance too much to ask?
Then again, considering the game itself, perhaps this was a blessing in disguise. The music ranged from ‘forgettable mediocrity’ to ‘Oh Deity, please end me’. The difficulty could be compared to playing Street Fighter II against a cat. Also, the visuals in this game ranged from bland to ‘eye-pain’ (I'm looking at you, Porky... though I wish I weren't). I could forgive the lackluster visuals if the game itself was fun, but it really wasn't. The game was just dull (at best) in every aspect. -------------------- "If you're thirsty, life gives you crackers; if you're hungry, it gives you pants." |
