Ok, this is just a thought... I am not sure how people will take this but I guess I'll never know until I try.
Shall we organise a CoN secret Santa event? I think it will be great for a number of reasons. First of all, it is a means of getting to know people from the site, especially since there are many "overseas" members. Also, X-Mas time is all about giving presents, so why not send something to an internet buddy? We don't have to buy expensive things; we can specify a price range, for example 10 pounds or something (I am thinking in terms of UK pounds, but that can be sorted easily). We can go lower than that if you wish. Perhaps the interested members could send their name and address to a mod or something, once leaving a reply on this thread. After the deadline (for example end of November) the mod will randomise these and send one to each person. Or something like that. What do you guys think? -------------------- Life may have no meaning. Worse still, it may have one that I do not approve. Well, main problem I can think of is postage, after all, how much does it cost to mail a small bottle of , say, aftershave from UK to US: About a fiver for a small object. £5.77 to the US from the UK for a 300g package, £9.47 for a 500g package...

It seems like a good idea at first but some people can't afford to send gifts at any price(IE me). How would you get around that problem? Not to mention, that there are members who aren't even old enough to get jobs for the money. I don't know who but I read the site was to appeal to the ages of 13+. Nice idea though, I just don't think it can work out. Merry christmas.

That'd be great! Only..... I've got Tonepoet's problem. I'm broke, and am not old enough for a job... anyone want to send me a few dollars? Lol, just kidding... you still can though

I am very wary of a site-sponsored Secret Santa type thing, because I have the feeling there would be a good possibility of a person stiffing another person, and the person who got screwed holding the CoN accountable for some reason. And the site really can't deal with drama like that.

That's ok; like somebody already said, seems like a good idea at first but there may be problems. Probably not worth the risk, but thanks for pointing out the flaws.

There would also be the problem of posting your address on the internet for all to see.
