Yes, i hear lots of arguements about "which final fantasy is the best" and it's just all opinions, but what annoys me is when i go to a public RPG voting websites, FFVI was never highest rated FF games. When I personnally asked people what is their favorite FF game and if they know FFVI, most people who knew FFVI said FFVI was their final Fantasy, but people who didn't even know the FFVI said it's worst without knowing what FFVI is... Most people (i'm not talking about CoN here, but like people around the world) hasn't played FFVI, and do not know about it compared to people who played other games. My opinion is that many people judge the game by when it came out, and the graphics so from people who never played FF games or don't know anything about it, will mostly likely play newest FF game, or FF game in newest system (like FFX and FFX2 right now). I'm not offending anyone who is playing only FFX or whatever, I would do that too. So I'm curious. From the people who actually played all FF games, I want to know their favorite final fantasy. ---- Vote: So choices are listed above. Only vote if you know at least 8 of FF serious. Having one or two games you only played half way, or more enough to know everything on that game is ok. I personally, can't vote because I only played beginning & ending of FFX and never tried FFT (and only half way in FFVIII), if you are people like me, just post and share your opinions -------------------- I will be there... |

Would 7 games work? (played all the way through and beating the end boss, replayed several times)
anyways I voted 6. Â It had the best gameplay and an original story line. Â Most of the characters were engrossing and relevant to the story. Â The magic system was my favorite. Â All the characters had abilities unique to only them (I know that this was present in most FF's but bear with me). Â It was the longest game so far, taking more than a few days to beat the first time . Â The villan was someone that you could truly hate. Â And there were plenty of plot twists to keep things interesting. And there you have it! BTW FF4 came in at a close second |

Very hard vote, because I KNOW that while playing each of FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9 and FFX, I was completely in love with the game and thinking "this one is the best". I did like FF4 too, but not so much as the others, and I didn't finish FF5 yet. FF Tactics...can't get through it.

Honestly, 4 has always been my favorite. I'm a fan of the Old School Final Fantasys, before they went to Playstation. I own 7-9 too, but I will still always love 4 and 6 most. I own 5 too, but I the whole class change thing never really appealed to me.

I didn't vote on this because my favorite one was not on there. I just like FF3 because it had an excellent Job system, was novel, loved the story, and need to play it again.

I haven't played enough games to vote in your poll. But I've finished 6 and 7, and I'd pick 7 in a choice between the two, if you're interested. You can't just assume that people who agree with you are experienced and people who don't just don't know anything.
Besides which, I'm jaded enough with the series without having played 8 of them. It's been the same old jokes for a fair while, just getting older and stretched more to make it look new, IMO. I probably prefer 7 because it all seemed fresh, since it was the first one I played. But the real point of the post is this: here is a sequence of numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Here is another sequence of numbers: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX X. Here is NOT A SEQUENCE OF ANYTHING: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X. Please try and name things consistently if you're doing a list like that, it looks much neater. Now let us never speak of sequences again. |

I really don't think that you need to play 8 or more of the Final Fantasies to have a valid opinion on them. Close to none have played FF2 and FF3, so you'd have to play every single game on your poll besides one. Kind of unfair, don't you think?
Like Tiddles said, just because people have a differing opinion, doesn't mean that they must not have played them all. Â Someone may go ahead and do just that, but that doesn't mean that their opinion is going to change. I didn't vote, because I've only played 5. well ive played all of them except for FF10.
my vote will go to FF Tactics, sure it can get frustating sometimes but i mean cmon you get to make your own fighters and it has cool battles too. FF6 is a close 2nd. -------------------- Why do kamakazi pilots wear helmets? |

I broke the rules of this vote a little. I have tried almost all FF games except FF1. I think I actually did try all of them except that one. But I didn't get halfway through them. I don't think someone should be required to. Part of the excellence in a game should be the game's ability to hook the gamer and keep the gamer playing. FFVIII and FFX were not able to do that for me but I still think I can make a fair judgement because I have at least seen and been able to feel what most of the FF games are like. My vote was for FFVI though I admit it was a hard choice between that and FFT. FFVI had very likeable characters and an entertaining story. The music was also incredible. There was betrayal and comedy. FFVI is classic. FFT had intrigue and mystery and leaves us with so many questions unanswered. We may not have particilarly liked specific characters (except our awesomely souped up soldiers like a summoner that can wear amror or something or Orlandu) but it's battle system was addicting and the characters very customizable.

I chose FF7, and not the others because:
FFT: I loved the unique gameplay, but battles can take a very long time, and job classes take awhile to master. FFV: Simply put, Kryle. I just would have like to see Galuf stay throughout the game. FFVI: Kefka. Lots of people say they like him, but I find him to be the most annoying villain, not to mention the one with the worst fashion sense. FFVIII: Draw. I can't say how many times it failed. FFIX: I just thought FFVII was better. FFX: This is second on my list. It was a little on the short side. -------------------- "The Master of Past, Present, and Future has returned." |

I selected FFT because of its storyline and characters. Graphics really aren't an issue to me in that regard - while FFT's graphics were great, the graphics of a game like FF6 are more appealing to me than the graphics of a game like FF8. FFT's battle system was also my favorite of any others, but I'm reluctant to say that I like FFT's gameplay the most...the inability to ever control your character's movement through a town or anything like that was a little odd to get used to. It worked well for the game, but there aren't many that I can say that for.
