I don't need to know any strategies or what equipment you need to beat the weapons I just want to know the recommended level before taking them on

You can easily beat Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon with levels in the low 60s, from my experience. What's more important is your Materia setups. Use the official Caves of Narshe guide here: Beating the Weapons.

You can honestly lose at any level, even 99. Ruby and Emerald Weapon are both designed to require strategy more than brute force/high levels of HP/MP. You might be able to defeat them with some variation of the strategy recommended by Caves of Narshe, but it's really not possible to Chuck Norris through those battles with regular weapons/armor. It takes skill, preparation and some great (and leveled) materia.
I have been level 70+ and entered battle with them before even with Knights of the Round, Final Attack+Phoenix, Mime, etc and lost after a 45 minute epic rage free-for-all. It takes speed, highly-leveled materia and yeah, a lot of luck. About the only advice I can give you is to start with Ruby Weapon. I found it a little easier, but maybe that's because I had just defeated Emerald Weapon when I engaged him. Good luck! |
