If you haven't played the game before it can be spoiedl.
I actually don't know something about this game. In the cave in the veldt when a thief says they'll be free if someone could slay the dragon north of the veldt? Is that reference to Doomgaze, the Dinosaur Forest, The White Dragon that appears on the Veldt after you beat it in the tower? This statement is in the original verson and PS I think. I'm unsure what it's referring to or if a dragon was left out of the game? -------------------- https://www.youtube.com/user/Greatermaxim Terra - LV 99 - HP 9999 - MP 999 Equipment - - - Abilities Illumina - - - - - Fight Genji Shield - - Morph Oath Veil - - - - Magic Minerva - - - - - Item Ribbon Economizer |

It's referring to the dinosaur forest. Apparently, it was a mistranslation or there isn't a word for dinosaur in Japanese, I'm not sure which.

Thanks. That was my guess too. Though the programming language spawns infinite number of Bracosaurs and Tryranosaurs. Don't think the cave people will ever be free.

Here's an ancient CoN post that agrees with the above: http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/forums/ipb/in...indpost&p=33897 And a horrid-to-read Google Groups post that does the same: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic...asy/9lr43Iyc0rw -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Since we're talking about the Brachosaurs...I don't remember whether I ever got an answer to this question.
Does the game prevent Brachosaurs from spawning if you're too low a level? -------------------- current games (2024-02-19): Fairy Fencer F ADF Pokémon Perfect Crystal finished so far this year: Gato Roboto drowning, drowning New Super Mario Bros. TMNT 3: Radical Rescue tabled: Lost Ruins |

I know why Brac sneezes you away. Every game needs characters with immunities and such. Like seeing a boss in FFVI that can only be beaten by water. Would make El Nino and Aquarake mandatoryish.

Does the game prevent Brachosaurs from spawning if you're too low a level? I don't think so either, for the half-justifiable reason that Dji makes no mention of such a thing in his walk, which otherwise includes an obscene amount of random encounter statistics / variants. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! I guess they're just a rare encounter I was never lucky enough to run into, then.

Of course, there's no point in really going there unless you know what you're there for, so I suspect there are a lot of people out there that never actually saw one in a normal playthrough. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

I know I hung around there a little bit to level up. I guess I just didn't get lucky then.
Regarding the thread topic... Don't some of the "actual" dragons also share sprites (albeit not palettes) with the Tyranosaur and Brachosaur? -------------------- current games (2024-02-19): Fairy Fencer F ADF Pokémon Perfect Crystal finished so far this year: Gato Roboto drowning, drowning New Super Mario Bros. Yeah, Gold Dragon is a palette swap of Brachosaur and Earth Dragon is a palette swap of Tyrannosaur.

So it really comes as no surprise that people in-game are confusing dinosaurs and dragons.
