how accurate is L.5 doom? Can you only learn this spell when you DIE from this spell at least once? When i was playing ff5, my character's level stayed same almost the whole time ( i didn't beat it yet, i'm 1/3 there ), but if all my character levels were 25, OMG would that be like automatic game over? Or does it seldomly work?
i think it's annoying how every character are in same level that either all of them are affected by L.3 muddle, L.4 flare, L.5 doom (i dunno if i got this right...) or none of them are affected...do you guys just use items to block this or wut? -------------------- I will be there... |

The Lv spells have 100% accuracy against their levels.
What I do is kill one of the characters, and let the other three go one level above the dead one, and go fight something that uses it when the behind character is a multiple of five. You have to successfully be hit by the spell, and the victim must be alive at the end of a battle. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

True, true, and true D.P. The only other thing I can think of to mention is that if you get to level 99 in any FF then you're eternally stuck with Level 3 spells whooping your butt. Ribbons, however, save you from the worst of them, and even early in the game you start getting accessories to ward off muddle and junk.
Quote The only Lv3 spell in FFV is Lv3 Flare, and so few monsters use it, so a non-issue I guess I got so used to Ahriman in FF7 lvl 3 Flaring me that I projected it onto FF5. Now that I think about it, Level spells have only held me up in rare rare ocassions. I shouldn't have mentioned butt whooping This post has been edited by Ejoty on 3rd December 2003 06:08 -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

don't be afraid of "level skills" they can be really good against some of the bosses
and level 5 death is a major help when fighting the Possible spoilers: highlight to view big cannon in the air battle -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

They timed it perfectly for that "page 32" in the ancient library to use L5 Doom right when your party is at level 15. How clever. All four of my guys died and I was like "wtf?" Brilliant.

yes i believe they did plan it out to happen that way to, but i usually use it to my advantage to learn lv.5 death heres how:
when your characters reach level 15, kill one of them then level the rest up to level 16 set whoever is level 15 to a blue mage and its in the bag -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |
