this bunghole is hard. i havent beat him yet. i tried, and he opened with tidal wave, killing all my characters IN ONE HIT. i was maxed on HP! HALSD;FH;LKASDJF;LKASDJF;ASD! thats all i could do to explain that.

anywho, how did you people kill this jerk?

Well, he should be difficult, since he's the hardest boss in the game.
Eight Hiryuu Lances, four Coral Rings, X-Fight, and pray you kill him before he does his lightning attack.

Well I thought about this for a little bit a facing defeat (from Shinru) and thought back to how I played through the other final fantasies, and remembered a tough battle in IV: Kain was the only one alive because of JUMP, and with this ability I won the boss fight

Here is what to do (this is what I've found most effective)
1)make all characters bare class
2)give them all Jump ability
3)give them all the best items
4) make sure there at least above level 52
5)Now go fight that dragon!

There's a way to beat him in the walkthrough, BUT there's a teeny-tiny glitch:
GETTING THOSE DRAGON LANCES BORDERS ON IMPOSSIBLE! (AI never got any)
AND I'M SUPPOSED TO GET SIX! ARGH!!!!

If anyone has a ZSNES savegame with those lances I'd gladly see if it works.

Did you try casting Return? Because that works.
