Hi I am in need of strategy help here. I am on my third attempt of final fantasy iii and I have not beat it because I can't get my characters hp high enough. In this most recent play through my entire party were monks until i got the earth crystal jobs. All of that game play including level grinding time and the highest i got was 2800 hp. Sure that's enough hp to beat the game until that point but once you are in the crystal tower you need more than that.

There has to be a way that I get my hp up higher from the start of the game. I get that this is a hardcore rpg ( the lack of save points and inability to buy Phoenix downs speak to that) but it is ridiculous that I the only way to level is to wait until the end of the game to get the black belt and then spend countless hours in bahamuts cave or fighting buses / kum kum in the crystal tower.

A better place to level is outside the Ancient's maze: Its right near your ship, so you can rest often.

HP was never a problem for me, my problem was spell charges (You cant exactly call it MP in this game.) It was a pain trying to get a high enough level to have enough Spell charges to use the spells i wanted to use.

Black belts have the most HP, but you only get them towards the end of the game which sucks.

The average HP to beat the game was i think 3200 - 3500, not 100% sure on that one though.
