Some of the characters in FFT have really wierd names. For example, did any of ya know that Teta means "nipple" in Spanish. I'm sorry, but every time Delita or anyone else mentions here, I just laugh. Tell me if you know of any other such names.

Wiegraf is actually a typo on Wiglaf, a friend of Beowulf in the epic poem. Wiegraf, by the way, means "How do I count?" In German.

yeah that is really funny, and actually it happens in nearly every final fantasy for example in webster's dictionary sephiroth (FFVII) is a religous trial, i can't remember which religion exactly though.

A squall is a storm out at sea.
Sephiroth comes from Jewish mysticism. I think it's a cult thing or something. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Hmm, I knew about Squall, but what Sephiroth meant was something new to me. I kew Wiegraf meant something in German.

Sephiroth is something from Jewish theology, i think having something to do with a "tree of life"; there used to be a great website on it. I think the use of Judeo-Christian imagery in many final fantasy games is really intriguing. And Cloud's a aryan kid from Nibelheim, which reminds me of the "Nibelungen" or something from Wagner's Ring cycle. Also weird.
When I invited a "Bone Snatch" into my party, i renamed him "Cunnilingus". Ha ha, "Bone Snatch"... |

I've seen a lot of Chocobos, Goblins, and Bombs named Lightning Bolt in random battles. I've seen some human enemies named Dog and J.I. and a lot of other retarded names too. Maybe I play too much....

I've seen Dog, and also come across Rat and Spider (both human as well).
My favorite names were Miserkiordi (sp?), Musashi, and one that had to do with Snow...anyone remember what that one was? Oh yeah, and Balmafula. That is a cool name. -------------------- "N'GHAAA! This is heavier than I thought! It'll take me 5 more minutes to drop it!" ~ Ultros |

The monsters in random battles are named Snow Wind sometimes. There's Snow Wind and Lightning Bolt, but I havent seen a 'fire' related name.
I forget where I read it, but "miserikordi" is something, but I dont remember what it is or what language it came from. -------------------- look into my eyes tell me what you see someone real? this is real! what you wish to be! ...O P E N Y O U R E Y E S........ ...open your eyes, open your eyes.... |

Weirdest name I've seen is Vashkoda, which I've seen about--OOOOOOO--twenty times I think on humans. And strangely enough, ALL of the Vashkodas have either been Monks or Priests. Anyone seen this name before?

I've seen the name Gun on an Archer before. And I've gotten Spider as one of my starting-out characters. My brother has gotten Musashi as a starting-out character, too. Gun was by far the weirdest name I've seen, besides the monsters' names I've seen (which I can't even attempt memorizing the spelling).

O, sorry. Was thinking of something else. I think Bestrada, Zalbag and Gaff are pretty goofy ass names for major characters though. -------------------- Blood & Fire |

Quote You're not a very smart cookie are you, ninja_with_guns? LoL...just picking on you Why am I not smart? Because I kicked Orlandu? I dont like him...no point of playing ANY game if there's a character that you can get in it that's just like him..also because he just joines your team for no reason, dont have to do anything to get. Maybe he would be worth it is the Deep DUngeon was twice as big on each stage and there were 66 levels there instead of 9 or 10 LOL i'm sorry if im flaming you @Ss@Ss!N but im just telling ya my side of the story |
