MAN AT ARMS - Master swordsmith Tony Swatton has forged both a Buster Sword and a Masamune, here's a look at the making of them, they're pretty amazing.

Creating a real life Masamune

Creating a real life Buster Sword

The Buster Sword looks far too heavy to be used in a real fight, would be good for scaring your opponent I suppose, haha.

Pretty Impressive!

Though, as awesome as they both look, and as impressive as the craftsmanship is, the footage shows pretty clearly how ridiculous the two weapons are when faced with real physics -

Buster Sword cannot be properly lifted or swung by anybody with less-than-godly strength (Thor or Hulk might have a shot, oh, wait, they're not real either), let alone in a manner that would allow you to use it in combat against anything more mobile and threatening that a large pillow.

And Masamune is clearly so preponderous that it wobbles like a Rolf Harris musical instrument when swung - whilst it impressively slo-mo's its way through several bottles, I'm not sure it would do much to a more robust or dense target.

Ha ha, the thing really looks more like a whip than a sword when it's in slow-motion.

I love how purely ludicrous both of these are, as cool looking as they both turned out.
