How do I do the Cyan's Psycho killing bug?

Simple, make him do Retort and kill him before he used his SwdTech. Revive him and turn him into a imp, then at the next action someone will do, Cyan will attack again and again until the battle is over (or you decide to run away).

Edit2: I think the Mover rage also has Gau casting Merton.  Does it?

Yes, as does Didalos.

Using MS Word's versatile capabilities, I was able to quickly compile a complete list of rages alphabetically sorted by their rage commands (using accredited Karpah's Rage List'---thank you Karpah):

I equipped the Dragon Horn, but it doesn't do anything! What's up?

The description can be confusing, but the Dragon Horn only works in accordance with the Jump command, either given by Sonic Dive or the Dragoonboots. This will change the normal Jump attack in an attack that will randomly use two, three of four times the same attack without decreasing in power like with the Offering.
The chances are:

75% chance for 2 attacks
18.75% chance for 3 attacks
6.25% chance for 4 attacks

This data is taken straight from Terii Senshi's Algorithm FAQ.

What exactly happens when I select a Rage?

Besides giving the user of the Rage a status in which he is uncontrollable and uses nothing but Fight and the other move listed under that Rage, the user also gains the elemental atributes of the monster he Rages, the status protections the monster has and any preset effects that the monster might have such as Safe, Float, Haste, Shell, etc. Also, special abilities as Human (only matters when struck by the Man Eater), Undead and Dies at 0 MP are attached to the Rager.

Stuff like Magic Block, stats, Can't Suplex, and Critical hits when Imp are not attached.

Also:

Quote
Cutter/Gilomantis (Shrapnel) is fun to watch but Bolt 3 is just as powerful. The only dfference is that Shrapnel is a physical attack.

Shrapnel looks physical, but is NOT. Tentacle is the only enemy spell that is physical.

To add to Mewmon's post:

Q: How do I defeat Intangirs?
A: Acquire Gau's Rhodox rage on the veldt, have him in your party when you fight Intangir, use it and he will either physically attack which will miss, or will use snare which kills him w/out having him retaliate with Meteo. It also helps to have him equipped with Runningshoes, that way if he uses fight 2-3 times in a row, you won't have to wait as long.

How can I get rich in the WoB?

A: go to Zozo and continually steal from Harvesters (there's a good chance that you'll get Dragonboots, sold for good money)

Well, that here's my definite possible contribution for the FF6 FAQ on the web site, and that I know that the first one of these two questions can work, but that I'm not sure if that the second one can also work (I'm play testing it out myself):

Question #1: how do I get more than one to three characters for my party onto the Floating Continent?

Answer: Just don't ever take Celes in your party onto the Floating Continent, even if that having her along does make it somewhat easier fighting against Atma Weapon with her Runic Blade then guarding your party. Just take one to three other characters in your party (like Terra, Locke, and Edgar for instance) onto the Floating Continent instead and Celes automatically comes and joins the party later on for the rest of the Floating Continent, and that's four characters for your party again, also making it slightly easier to fight against the Naughtys and Nerapa along the way off of the Floating Continent. It's almost five characters for the party when that Shadow shows up to help out Celes and the other three party members, and also when Shadow comes and escapes off of the Floating Continent with the other four party members.

and

Question #2: What's another possible strategy to use fighting against the enemies and/or the bosses in the game?

Answer: Simply use something that gives those enemies and/or those bosses the poison status (like using the poison spell, or the bio spell, or the bio blaster), and that with some of them that it seems to just keep taking off of them the same amount of hit points every time, but that for certain ones of them like the Dirt Dragon on the stage in the Opera House in the World of Balance, that it just seems to keep climbing higher and higher in number of hit points taken off of them.

it carries, how can I steal from/kill it easily?

A: Have realm in your party equipped with the FakeMustache relic, use 'Control' (repeatedly if necessary), then either steal from it or use magic (poison works well) to finish it off.

Poison status always does this, it's just Seizure and HP Leak that remain constant.

here's another one

what's the best way to get Magicite?
make sure you get Umaro from the cave of narshe and is in your party.
first, have 99 Phoenix down, then go to the Colosseum and equip Umaro with the Offering and blizzard orb Relics or running shoes and bet the phoenix downs and you'll have to fight a Cactort. (normally your attacks will miss him. but the Offering Relic will defeat him every time.

that might take too long, is there a faster way to get Magicite?
Yes, but you needed a turbo controler that has auto-fire action, if you do, the do these things while you are in the Colosseum, put Umaro on top of your party, make sure he has the Offering relic before you go in the battle, put your Phoenix downs on top of your list, and set the conform button to auto fire the turbo controler and Umaro will defeat the Cactort every time and you'll get a Magicite every time for every Cactort you defeated.

How many memento rings are there?  Relm comes with one. You can get a second one in Strago's house, on a shelf in the top left corner of the top floor. You can steal another from WrexSoul.

You should correct the 2nd sentence because it is confusing. There is no shelf to speak of, and the ring is not in the topleft corner. I would recomend the following description to replace the 2nd sentence:

"You can get a second one in top floor of Strago's house. Go to the left side of the small circular table that is adjacent to the left wall. Face left and press A."

Thief tricks:

Equip the marvel shoes and theif glove on Locke to have him steal and not damage opponents. This also adds many positive attributes.

Steal four times: Theif glove and offering, this will damage opponents.

Stealing more easily:

1. Have Gogo/Edgar use noise blaster.
2. Have Gogo/Relm use control (much more effective).
3. Have Gogo/Strago cast dischord (to reduce enemy level to 50%, thus increasing chance to steal). If you miss frequently when trying to cast dischord, cast vanish on the monster first.

Locke can't Steal with a Thief Glove on, only Capture, and how would Marvel Shoes prevent Locke from doing damage anyway? If you meant Sneak Ring and not Thief Glove, Marvel Shoes aren't a requirement at any rate and don't necessarily help Locke steal anything in the first place, besides taking more turns due to Haste, and in that vein RunningShoes would be just as effective, if not moreso since you can get those before Mt. Kolts, and the earliest you can possibly get Marvel Shoes is right after you get the airship in the WOB (yes, WOB, but I'm talking Metamorph insanity here).

For lone monsters, this is good. For groups, you need a disclaimer on this technique. From the Glitches and Bugs guide:

Quote
Capture + Offering = bad pickpocket -

Don't try this combo unless you like losing items.  If you steal more than one item in a
single turn, you only get the first item you nabbed.  What's worse, the subsequent steals
still count as far as the monsters are concerned, so if you nab a second item off of a
monster, you won't get the item AND you won't get a second chance at it.  Finally, there
is a chance text bugs will crop up, i.e. listing that you stole an item from an enemy that
doesn't even carry that item, although it will only list items that can be stolen from
someone in the battle.  Psychot/Wizard is a nice example of this.  However, the combo is
perfectly acceptable if there is only one enemy on the battlefield, the glitch only affects
multiple enemies.

Q: I heard there is some kind of secret chest in the Imperial Base in Sabin's scenario? Where is it?

A: The tent in question is accessible and it contains a chest holding a Barrier Ring. It's accessible by jumping off the wall BEHIND the tent which is holding the MithrilGlove and the monster-in-a-box Telstar. You'll jump off and immediately enter the tent; after leaving, you'll automatically jump back up.

Q: I just can't seem to find a certain rage for Gau! What can I do?

A:This is becuase the monsters you fight are grouped into certain categories. In those categories, there are the monsters you are trying to find. If you want to fight a specific monster, all you have to do is wait for the group before the one you're trying to find, save, and if the monster doesn't appear in the next battle:

1. Go off the Vedlt
2. Fight another battle somewhere else
3. Go back to the Vedlt and fight again

This fight will be from the same category of monsters you are trying to find. If it does not contain the monster you are after, repeat these steps again.

For information on Vedlt monster formations, and other equally as usefull info, check out this sheet on FF6 Algorithms:

[Where are the eight dragons located

Dirt Dragon - Opera House
Storm Dragon - Mt. Zozo
Ice Dragon - Narshe Snowfields
Blue Dragon - Ancient Castle
Red Dragon - Phoenix Cave

*White Dragon - Fanatics' Tower*
Gold Dragon - Kefka's Tower
Skull Dragon - Kefka's Tower

I want to add some more info about white dragon

after you defeated the white dragon in Fanatics' Tower, you can also face him again on the Veldt.
but you won't get the "only *insert number of dragons left* dragons left..." message after defeat the White dragon on the Veldt.
it counts as a normal enemy
his rage is Pearl. so make sure to get it when you encounter the white dragon on the Veldt.

can I find any of the other dragons on the Veldt?

nope. only the White dragon can appear on the Veldt after you've defeat it at Fanatics' Tower.

what's the difference between facing the white dragon between the Fanatics' Tower and the Veldt?

in Fanatics, you can easly spot him in one of the floors to the top and you MUST use magic to defeat him

on the Veldt, he's just a random encounter enemy and can be "Leaped" for a rage for Gau. you can also use weapons against him here.

I was training to get the Stray Cat Rage and Gau had leaped a few battles back, (He didn't find stray cat but he found a different valuable one). And I had to take on the White Dragon with 3 partymembers, one of which had the cursed shield, and the rest were my worst players.

I died reallly quick.

However, I had not once visited the tower in that game file.

What determines the time that Terra stays morphed?

How long Terra stays morphed is determined by how many Magic Points you have accumulated. Getting more Magic Points builds time for Terra to stay Morphed, while using Morph spends this time. Note that these Magic Points are the points that determine when you learn spells from magicite. They are seperate from MPs.

(I found this answer from one of Ranger 51's posts on FF Gurus forums. He was quoting it from Terri Senshi's GameFAQ. I hope that I have used this section correctly.)

Wooster, you lie like a n00b.

Question: What does the Relic Ring do?

A: The description is somewhat lacking. The Relic Ring causes your party member to become a Zombie, only under your control. Spells such as cure will hurt it, life will kill it, and death spells such as Doom will bring you back to full life. (Also, someone correct me on this, but I believe you can't be zombified this way, except by Goddess' overcast, but the target needs to be killed off by damaging it, the timer doesn't affect the character, and once zombified there's no way to bring the character out of this state...)

I realize the answer to this one is in the walkthrough, but the question did come up and, in all honesty, even I couldn't find it that easily. Since it isn't on the FAQ, I figured I'd try and submit it:

How do I find Shadow in the WOR?

1. After you defeat the Atma Weapon and Kefka proceeds to destroy the world, you will eventually be given the option of escaping on the airship. Don't jump in the airship; instead, wait for Shadow. He'll show up with a few seconds to spare.

2. In the WOR, search for him in the cave in the Veldt (make sure to find the Striker in there while you're at it).

3. Go to the coloseum and wager the Striker. Shadow will fight you and, if you win, he'll join you for good.

Edit
Upon a third lookthrough at the FAQ, I did find the question and, although I feel it could use a bit more elaboration, I nevertheless apologize for the post. Do with it as ye wish.

Damn you down2earth, I wanted to submit the Cactrot one.

Ok, here you go:

Question: There is a bunch of chests in Locke's scenario, in the area right before you use the Old Clock Key to use the passage behind Duncan's Wife's house. 3 of them contain GP in ascending order when opened from right to left, but the final one is empty. Does it ever contain anything? (like later in the game?)

Answer: thumbdown.gif No. I found this highly annoying.

heres another one that deals with empty chests:

In the relic shop of Albrook, there are two chests, both empty. Do THEY ever have anything in them later on?

Answer: thumbdown.gif No. I found this highly annoying.

And then there's...

Going back to Cyan's cliff in the WoR, you find a little sparkle on the top left, which proves to be a key to the locked chest in the room before, the one with the fake silk flowers. This chest reveals the rare item, "Books". What the hell do they do?

Answer: Absolutely nothing. "Books" is a leftover from an abandoned project by the developers of the game.

And finally, another "useless item" one:

What's up with the first Rare Item you get ("pendant"). What is it's reason for existance?

Answer: Absolutely nothing. I believe it's existance is tied to the esper Maduin. He gives a pendant that "helps protect the esper world" to Madonna, Terra's human mother. This is probably it, though I can't say for sure.

Note: I have not looked through the FAQ thing you guys have, or the walkthrough for that matter, so I don't know if you've covered any of these questions or not. If you have, I apologize for the repetitiveness.

Is the Drainer Sword really good for anything?
-- Yes, it is one of the best weapons for Locke in the WoB. Why only Locke? Because his capture ability does not activate the swords drain affects, instead it uses the swords base damage like it were any other weapon. This makes it so you do not have to swap weapons with the drainer in order to do damage when you have full health, nor do you have to worry about giving you HP to undead monsters. And best of all, Locke can heal himself by just using fight instead.

Q. Wait a moment... when you fight Kefka Demon, Hit¦Tools¦Magic¦Tiger, Goddess¦Girl and Kefka, does not the background look familiar?

Yes, each section is a pastiche of religious works made by the turtles (Michangelo, et cetera) except Donatello.

Q. Is there a way I can get past MagicMaster's Ultima attack sans Osmose and Rasp?

Yes, you have to lnflict Life 3 on your characters. Try using the spell Life 3, learned via the Esper Phoenix, obtainabl in Phoenix Cave.

Q. Can you save Cid del Mourtz?

Yes, you can. In order to do this you have to feed him better fish quickly. The good ones swim faster. If you give him enough fish he will live- he'll give you the raft personally. Apart from ''winning'', there is no reward.

Well, I read the FAQ, and I didn't see this here, but I'll put it anyway.

Where is the best place to gain Magic Points in the World of Balance?

Triangle Island. You fight Intagnirs there, which are already "Vanished" at the beginning of battle. Just use Doom or X-Zone, and you get 10 Magic Points. (But you have to survive the Meteor attack...)

And, Where is the best place for Magic Points in the World of Ruin?

The desert south of Maranda. You fight Cactrots (Cactuars) there, which give 10 Magic Points. Though most characters with low Accuracy will miss them, a guaranteed-to-hit attack like Tools, Blitzes, or Swordtechs will kill them in one blow. Also, you run into Hoovers there, which give decent Exp.

And finally...Where is the best place to get Exp in the World of Ruin?

Arguably the most dangerous, but most rewarding, area in the game, Dinosaur Forest. It's north of the Veldt, and hard to miss. It's a forest that resembles a dragon's head. You run into Tyranosaurs and Brachiosaurs there, two very dangerous monsters, which have no problem clawing, or casting Meteor or Ultima on you. Brachiosaur also uses Catastrophe, which inflicts almost every status effect. However, if your party is strong enough, this is indeed the best place to train. If one character is strong enough, you can even use just them alone with an Exp. Egg to level up to level 99 very quickly. In addition, you can win Economizers, Ribbons, and Imp equipment from these monsters. Likewise, you can also Morph them with the Ragnarok Esper.

Okay, I hope nobody already posted that...well...whatever. If I made a mistake, just correct me, because I probably did.

I am actually trying to add what Daniel left out!

Question: Can you take more than one to three character with you on to the Floating Continent?

Yes, you can actually have up to six really! First, pick any three members to go with you but Celes. Then when you get on the Floating Continent, DO NOT talk to Shadow yet and get him in your party. Go along through the Floating Continent until you get to the Atma Beast. After you beat him, then that is when Shadow would usually leave you, but he is not in your party. Go back and get Shadow at the beginning of the Floating Continent and return where the Atma Beast was, you will be able to go up were Gesthal and Kefka are "with" Shadow. Then Celes will appear to make five. Then a second Shadow, a glitch in the game because Shadow was suppose to leave you and then come back to save you, will come to your rescue! So, I count.....

1. (A party member but Celes)
2. (A party member but Celes)
3. (A party member but Celes)
4. Celes
5. Shadow
6. "A second" Shadow

Pretty neat, huh? cool.gif

How can I defeat the MagiMaster without getting hit by his powerful magic?

Easy, you can cast Berserk on him and he will only attack with physical attacks which are weak and then just pummel him with his weakness or cast Meteor/Ultima at him. IMPORTANT!!!!! You must cast Berserk at him at the very beginning of the battle or he might change his defenses in a way that you can't use the spell on him.

Also if you choose to drain him of his MP, it will take an extremely long time!! Therefore it's probably a good idea to get the Phoenix esper, and use Life3. You'll finish the game earlier.

No, that will give him the Magic command.

In the tower, Fight becomes Magic, and Magic is taken off the list.

Actually, that only applies if "Fight" is in the first command slot. Put "Fight" in the second or third slot and it remains unchanged.

Try it.
