Caves of Narshe Forums > Final Fantasy IX > Have I messed up my level one FFIX game again?

Posted by: Cefca 26th November 2012 19:41
So I tried playing a level one game on Final Fantasy IX a while back but failed pretty quickly when I didn't steal the Needle Fork from Zaghnol and it seems I've messed up on my second attempt too. I'm up to the part where:

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
You rescue Dagger after she's had her Eidolons extracted then you fight Beatrix, then a Bandersnatch and finally some black mages.

Looking at a guide, it seems that I need Stop to be able to get through the third battle without gaining any EXP and I didn't get Vivi's Oak Staff which seems to be the only way for me to know the spell at this point.

Am I screwed again?

Cheers.

Honestly, it's been that long I can't even remember. I don't think I had to restart the game again so I must have had a previous save I could go back to.

That's too bad - I am actually doing my first full play through right now and I find it to be a very solid game!

Along with FFX I only beat FFIX once a long time ago. I was working on other things at the time and FF took a back seat. I don't know the intricacies of these games like I do FFVI though if it's fun for you go right ahead. I've made more money off other games and play these more for personal satisfaction and achievement.
