Some friends of mine (scattered across the country) decided to do a replay of FFXII, and I'm hopping on board to play through it for the first time (The Zodiac Age, on Switch Lite, in case that's important), and being the obsessive perfectionist that I am, I'm now wondering what I should be wary of missing out on.

Got any advice for an FFXII newbie? What's missable that I cannot afford to miss out on?

In the original version of the game, the Zodiac Spear was missable. You could only get it if you did NOT open certain treasure chests throughout the game. They've changed that in the Zodiac Age -- now it's just very annoying to get. Here's a guide on how to get it (note that only the Uhlan class can use the spear).

Otherwise, I think this article has what you're looking for.
