Here's an idea to toss around. Would it be possible and feasible to move to a wiki format, with all of us users contributing and refining the guide sections?

I know that we're trying it with the News and it seems to be working, thought I would put the idea out there.

I know that ultimately it's up to those who run/maintain the site, but I don't think I agree with that out look. The thing I like about the guide section is that there has to be enough evidence (a screen shot or something like that) before the staff will add to it. In college, no one is allowed to use Wikipedia as a citation because there are some things that are really wrong on there, simply because anyone can put their input down, and if enough people hear the same B.S. rumor it can get added to the encyclopedia. I think it's probably better if the site sticks to the current way.

R51 addressed this just a few days ago in this topic. Basically, having moderated content is what sets us apart from the rest of the FF databases out there which do have free reign on the data. Since most of our data is dumped directly from ROMs or bestiaries (for the advance versions), there is no need for any of it to be accessed by the public. It would be a lot of unnecessary cleanup for us if things were to get out of control with editing the site.

That would open up more problems than it would fix. It's better to have people work on it, and then have the members leave suggestions and point out errors. I think it works well.
