throughout the game of FF9, there have been no real answers as to whether Quina was a guy or a girl. Sometimes they said "s/he". At points in the game, Zidane refers to Quina as a "him" and other times they say "her". I suppose Square is letting you decide what Quina is. So... guy or girl in your opinion?... or neither?

It *feels* like Quina should be a male, but then...they'll say something to indicates it's female - like Quina and Vivi being able to get married. ::shrug:: Go figure. Quina is anything you want it to be.

I say Quina's female. Something about Quina, probably the pink, points me in that direction. And yeah, what's up with marrying Vivi?

I have no idea what Quina's gender. I don't really want to know either. Hehe, I named it Pudding this time through. I thought it was a fitting name

I think female because of the dress and the pinkness, and there's something female about her. Also it balances well with the fact that there would be 4 males and 4 females if she was female. And then there's the marriage thing...though Zidane was joking, and that joking could have been taken in the sense that Quina is a male, and the dwarves might freak at the thought of a gay marriage. Soo...most of what evidence there is, it proves the point if you want it to :-P
Oh! Oh! What if there's the possibility that there are more then 2 genders in the Qu. Eh? More then male and female, maybe there are hermaphrodites that are more common then in humans, and Quina is one. OR, maybe she's the other way around, kinda like a neuter. Can't reproduce. Even though most everything about the character leads you to beleive it to be female...I myself tend to lean a little more toward Quina being a male...if you pay attention the character seems pretty daring and agrees with Zidane a lot throughout the game. And, for me at least, the biggest dead-givaway about Quina being a male character is his insatiable appetite!!! A common quality of EVERY male!

Humans are uncomfortable with things that are different. They try to make things seem more familiar to them. But really, I believe what Square seemingly intended for them to be, genderless.

Wellif you think about when you go to and from Q Marsh you DO get the opportunity to meet Quinas Grandpa or whatever Quina calls him, so i would ASSUME that that Q can be considered a male! So if square had intended to make the Q's genderless then why would they make one of the Q's Quina's Grandpa??? I think that al Q's have a gender, but not "telling" us which gender Quina is, is just their way of having fun, like messing with our minds...its one of the oldest tricks in the book...get someone to wonder about something that only you yourself know about and its gonna bother them for a long time JUST because they dont know!!!

I never reall paid attention to the hints but Quina was always a girl to me because she/he reminded me of my brother's girlfriend. My brother's girlfriend is Vietnamese and sometimes speaks in broken English (even though she can speak in perfectly good English she likes to speak in broken English sometimes, I think it's cute) kind of like Quina did. Plus, the whole Quina being hungry thing reminded me of her as well. My brother's girlfriend is always hungry because they barely ever have food in the house. If I went through the game again I'd probably name Quina, Thao after my brother's girlfriend.

I don't know what Quina is but I would just call Quina a "IT" because its something but you don't know really what "IT" is.

Quina is a female. I odn't care what anyone else says, you can pratically tell she's a she just by the way she looks. Obviously, her master is male, not to mention Vivi's "grandfather" is male, showing that her kind does have genders.
