I started playing a bit of FFVII again for another run at Emerald Weapon, and I thought it would be a nightmare because I want to use the CoN guides but I'm emulating the game on my laptop. To make it worse I've hooked it all up to a 26" and I'm playing with an Xbox pad, so switching between laptop and game means waiting for the screen to adjust to the new resolution.
Then I thought of just using my Blackberry. I expected it to be like a lot of other pages, where you have to move around the page and it loads as you go, and it's difficult to see what you need all at once. Instead the pages fit perfectly on my phone, wall to wall, and it's easy to go between things, and easy to zoom on what I want without it constantly loading. What the hell, is this site missing anything?! Now I can sit back in my chair away from the screen and check anything I need on the phone. I just wanted to say how great it is that the site is compatible with my phone even when Yahoo and many other top-tier sites aren't. Is that work you've done yourselves or does it just so happen to work? -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Thanks, but honestly, we can't take all that much credit other than the fact that we have a site that's largely free of unnecessary images and is standards-compliant. Any decent browser, regardless of screen size, should do a pretty okay job with a site like that. Does RIM still use Opera on their Blackberry devices?
In any event, I think it would probably be interesting to make a mobile version of CoN now that smart phones are everywhere. Unfortunately, given the time investment versus the reward, I doubt I'll ever get around to it. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Opera is still available for RIM devices, and you can also use the Bolt browser too, I believe.
Also, I've browsed CoN on my Motorola Droid before as well. Looks great and is fully functional just as I see it on the comp. Yay |
